Position Summary
The primary responsibilities of the part-time Sales Specialist position are to provide amazing customer service, generate sales, provide product knowledge and support, and support the store management team’s priorities of the day. Additionally, the Sales Specialist will take on skill based roles identified below based upon experience and qualifications.
Major Responsibilities
The major responsibilities for this position include:
Comes to work as a happy, friendly associate ready to help every customer.
Ensure each customer receives amazing service which follows the S.A.L.E.S process and mystery shop standards.
Aid customers in locating merchandising in store, on acehardware.com, as well as, processing special orders.
Uses Radio headset to communicate with other associates in working with customers and business needs.
Awareness for customer interaction of all promotions and advertisements.
Takes ownership for assigned roles and performs to highest standards.
To become the “go to” specialist for assigned roles.
Execute the daily operational, day-to-day tasks and priorities assigned by store management including;
Stocking / Replenish out of stocks / Process new truck receipts
Set planograms, endcaps & displays including signing.
Sets promotions including signing, completes pricing changes and maintains shelf labels.
Assist in the training and development of peers.
Actively participate in daily huddle meetings.
Participates in the Store Housekeeping Standards “Maintain as We Go” which may include:
Taking out the trash, dust and mop floors, clean restroom, associate room, and clean stockroom.
Recovers and maintains merchandising standards putting away merchandise and facing on shelf / hook.
Retrieve carts from the parking areas and pick up trash outside. Clean front patio and Garden Center.
Processing new shipments and helps keep the receiving and back stock area clean and organized.
Learn and follow established safety rules and safe work practices. Reports accidents immediately to a Manager.
Is proactively monitoring customers and if shoplifting is suspected or observed, provides a higher level of service and notifies the MOD via headset radio.
Solicit customers to open an Ace Rewards card, promotes the benefits and future savings potential.
Answer customers’ questions, “how to” requests, and provide information on “do it yourself” projects.
Completes at least 15 hours of training per year.

Minimum Requirements
The minimum requirements for this position include:
Education/Training: High School degree, some college preferred.
Possess a vast product knowledge of hardware related products along with a willingness to learn.
Previous experience in a retail environment either in sales and merchandising roles.
A happy and friendly person with a commitment to service, excellence and helping others.
Sales and marketing experience with retail programs, establishing relationships and working with customers
Knowledge and experience working in retail operational computer systems, MS Word and Excel a plus.
A commitment to service excellence and customer satisfaction
Team player with excellent interpersonal skills with a strong willingness to learn.
Excellent communication skills, organizational ability, high attention to detail, and ability to multi-task
Ability to work PT/FT flexible hours including weekday shifts, evenings, weekends and holidays to meet the needs of the business.

Must be able to lift 40 pounds frequently to load and unload customer orders.
Ability to stand for an extended period of time
