Your Title: Data Migrations Engineer Job Location: Remote (United States) Our Department: Construction (Viewpoint) Are you interested in identifying and delivering disruptive cutting-edge technologies? What You Will Do The Cloud Engineer will join our Cloud Transformation team and report to the Cloud Transformation Manager. The transformation team is responsible for moving customers from on-premise to the cloud. Our work environment is global (multiple time zones), fast-paced and forward thinking. Duties and Responsibilities Responsible for solely leading, or partnering with other engineers, to move on-premise customers to the cloud. Work with customers to understand and integrate 3rd party applications within or with the cloud deployment of our software. Troubleshoot and resolve platform issues. Treat automation as an opportunity, instead of threat to job security, and help drive process improvement. Coordinate with the cloud engineers that build and operate systems for a rapidly growing SaaS and Cloud hosting infrastructure. Support the development lifecycle of platform design, deployment and debugging. Help identify, resolve and prevent existing and future system bottleneck issues. Provide technical assistance to developers, testers and engineers to improve operational efficiency, based on customer experiences. Help improve/automate installation and deployment scripts. Works well in a team environment with a strong customer service ethic. Explore concepts, ideas and new technology to create novel solutions to problems. Must be detail-oriented. What Skills & Experience You Should Bring Ability to successfully complete project tasks as priorities shift. Demonstrated experience supporting Windows Operating systems in 24x7 Production environments. Deep knowledge of Windows Server (2008 and 2012) tools and administration (AD, DNS, IIS, etc). Solid knowledge of Windows PowerShell. Awareness of system automation strategies using home-grown or automated tools (Puppet, Chef or others). Working knowledge of metrics and alerts for uptime performance and usage. Solid experience with Virtual deployments. Network administration including VPN configuration and ODBC proxy server. Solid understanding of networking concepts such as routing, gateways, remote connectivity, etc. Ability to understand the importance of controlling change without delaying deliverables. Ability to draw demarcation points and logically step through complex troubleshooting scenarios. Preferred Skills & Experience: Proven Cloud infrastructure administration for AWS, Azure, Rackspace, Cloudstack, Openstack or other providers in Production environments with GUI or API-based deployment. PaaS web and database configuration and deployment. Experience using deployment tools (Octopus Deploy, Release Management, Jenkins and others). SQL (or other database) Server configuration, backup and maintenance. Monitoring system configuration (SCOM, CloudWatch, CopperEgg, Pingdom, etc).
