Experience:
- Previous experience as an optometric technician or in a similar role required
- Conduct pre-testing of patients, including NCT, autorefraction, lensometry, screening visual fields, and Retinal Photography, visual acuities, etc.
- Cleaning of the pre-test area and equipment before each patient use.
- Contact lens training- instructing patients on how to care for, insert, and remove contact lenses.
- Special testing as directed by the Doctor.
- Assisting patients in completing any paperwork reasonably necessary for the operation of the Practice.
- Computer Tasks. Administering standard day-to-day computer tasks (Data entry into Electronic Medical Records system).
- Provide exceptional customer service and assist with retail sales of eyewear and contact lenses
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, and ocular anatomy
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and maintaining patient confidentiality
- Proficient in using electronic medical record systems for documentation
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately
- Excellent interpersonal skills for effective communication with patients and colleagues
