Location BHG Bronson Healthcare Group Title Bronson Registered Nurse Internal Travel Program -Inpatient Surgery 11a-11p This position is intended to meet the most critical staffing needs across the Bronson system and will: Travel to BBC, BLH, BMH, BSH and BCOM Work every other weekend and 50% of holidays, including Christmas 12 hour shifts. OT may be scheduled-BT may work no more than 48 hrs/week. Rotate assignment (organization and/or unit) location every two weeks Know current and next 2 week in advance Not be eligible for mileage reimbursement, PTO accrual, nursing scholarship, tuition reimbursement, workshop / conference time, certification and advanced degree completion pay or nursing professional advancement ladder participation Not eligible for any bonuses, specialty, differential, charge or preceptor pay PTO: 5 unpaid prescheduled days off per six month contract with the exception MPMLA. Unpaid time off will be requested at least 30 days in advance. PTO will not accrue. 40 hours of MPMLA (medical leave) will be accrued. This is not PTO. Candidates who have a PTO balance accrued prior to transitioning into a RN travel role will have their PTO balance frozen until employee transfers into a position w/PTO or they terminate employment. If employment is terminated at any time, payout will be at 50% of the salary rate the PTO was accrued and not the RN travel rate. 403B: employee contributions only. Bronson will not provide any contribution. Cluster first. Cluster may occur within or outside competency group (ie. Critical care to med-surg). Competency appropriate assignments will be given. LCD: voluntary unpaid; involuntary will be paid for 50% of the canceled shift. Standby: Due to ineligibility for extra incentive pay, employee is not required to be placed on standby Commit to a 6 month employment contract Candidates practice in accordance to organizational procedures and guidelines and the Michigan Public Health Code. Documents must be submitted with job bid in Workday to be considered a viable candidate: Application via Workday Cover letter Resume Leader recommendation Leader is defined as director of nursing, nurse manager, unit coordinator Leader must use RN Travel Nurse Recommendation Form Incomplete and partial submissions will not be considered. Additional Job Requirements for all RN internal travel pool staff Licensed Registered Nurse in good standing with the State of Michigan Associate’s degree in Nursing is required Bachelor’s degree in Nursing preferred; must obtain within 8 years of hire. If after 8 years, this requirement is not met, employment will be terminated. Candidates must possess at least one year experience in an acute care BLS (all), ACLS (critical care, ED) Demonstrates competencies for the population served Additional Job Requirements for BCOM RN internal travel pool staff Fingerprinting required Subject to all COVID -related requirements, such as but not limited to routine testing as necessary Ensures appropriate delegation to CNA’s to ensure work is completed Shifts may be variable but standard in this facility is an 8 hour shift Additional Job Requirements for ED RN internal travel pool staff Fingerprinting required. Candidates must possess at least one year experience in an acute care ED BLS, ACLS, PALS , STABLE, TNCC certifications are required prior to hire; ENA triage module (will provide during onboarding) Demonstrates competencies for the population serve Additional Job requirements for OR internal travel pool RN’s: Two years of experience in an operating room of a level 1 Trauma Center Weekend, on-call, and holiday requirements vary from what is listed above Must work 1 weekend in a 4 week schedule (weekend work shift will be night shift) Must schedule 2 on call shifts in a 4 week schedule (1 weekend, 1 week day) Must schedule 2 holidays per year (1 summer, 1 winter) Standards of Practice Collects comprehensive data pertinent to the patients’ health or the situation Assesses the patient’s physical and developmental needs Analyzes assessment data to identify appropriate patient needs Documents nursing history and age appropriate physical/emotional needs/strengths for assigned patients Reviews vital signs to assess condition of patient and detect deviations from normal Analyzes the assessment data to determine patient problems or issues Uses the assessment data to identify patient problems Confirms problems with patient and family when appropriate Documents the expected outcomes and plan of care related to the problems through use of the clinical pathway and outcome teaching record Identifies expected outcomes for a customized patient plan Utilizes patient/family input when defining outcomes Incorporates the patient values, ethical and cultural considerations Coordinates discharge planning Develops a plan that prescribes interventions to attain expected outcomes Incorporates clinical pathways into the plan when appropriate Develops individualized interventions with patient input when appropriate Considers data from other members of the healthcare team when developing the plan of care Implements the identified plan Implements appropriate interventions Administers prescribed medication and treatment in accordance with approved nursing techniques and polices Utilizes evidence-based interventions specific to the patients plan Maintains awareness of comfort and safety needs of the patient Initiates a patient education plan according to the individualized needs of the patient, and coordinates the implementation of the plan Manages the care plan for patients by organizing and delegation patient care interventions to be implemented Evaluates progress toward the expected outcomes Evaluates the effectiveness of the planned interventions and the patient response toward achievement of the expected outcomes Documents the patient response toward the expected outcomes Evaluates the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice Participates in quality improvement activities Uses the results of quality improvement activities to initiate changes in nursing practice Stays knowledgeable on changes in nursing practice Participates in ongoing educational activities related to appropriate knowledge and professional issues Maintains professional records that provide evidence of competency and continued ongoing educational activities Evaluates one’s own nursing practice in relation to professional practice standards and guidelines, relevant statues, rules and regulations Provides age appropriate care in a culturally and ethnically sensitive manner Participates in self-evaluation, identifying areas of strengths as well as areas that could benefit from professional development Participates in systematic peer review as appropriate Interacts with and contributes to the professional development of peers and colleagues Shares knowledge and skills with peers and colleagues Maintains compassionate and caring relationships with peers and colleagues Contributes to a supportive and healthy work environment Collaborates with patient, family and others in the conduct of nursing practice Partners with the multiple health disciplines to effect change and generate positive outcomes for the patient and family, based on the plan of care Integrates ethical provisions in all areas of practice Delivers care in a manner that preserves and protects patient autonomy, dignity, confidentiality and rights Demonstrates a commitment to connecting with self and others through relationship centered caregiving Serves as a patient advocate Integrates research finding into practice Uses research to improve the health of patients and the practice environment Participates in the various levels of research based on their level of education;
