The Miami Institute for Data Science and Computing (IDSC) has a temporary job opportunity for a 3D Artist to work at the Coral Gables Campus. CORE JOB SUMMARY The 3D Artist analyzes, designs, writes, tests, and implements new programs and applications. Moreover, the incumbent maintains and revises existing systems and provides technical assistance to end-users and others within Information Technology. CORE JOB FUNCTIONS Position Responsibilities: Collaborates with the research team to develop 3D assets, environments, and characters using software such as Blender or Maya. Applies expertise in 3D rigging and animation techniques to create realistic and compelling animations for various projects. Works closely with researchers and developers to integrate 3D assets into Unity-based applications, including virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) experiences. Assists in the creation of interactive and immersive experiences by leveraging your knowledge of Unity, AR, and VR technologies. Ensures the visual quality, performance, and optimization of 3D assets across different platforms and devices. CORE QUALIFICATIONS Education: Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field Department Specific Qualifications Experience/Requirements: 6mos - 1 year of relevant experience Proficient in 3D modeling, texturing, and rendering using software such as Blender or Maya. Strong understanding of 3D rigging and animation techniques. Excellent attention to detail and the ability to deliver high-quality work within deadlines. Strong problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment. Any appropriate combination of relevant education/or work experience may be considered.
