The Miami Herbert Business School (MHBS) is engaged in an international search for a visionary candidate to fulfill the position of Jeffrey L. Bewkes Family Endowed Chair for its Department of Economics. The chairholder must be an Associate Professor faculty member. Qualified candidates must have a Ph.D. in Economics or related field, have a willingness and capacity to conduct high-quality scholarly research, and demonstrate teaching competence. They are expected to pursue an active research program, perform undergraduate and graduate teaching, and engage in service activities. Additional duties include: Instruction of 3-4 courses (9-12 credit), lecturing, leading class discussions and conducting other teaching activities during scheduled classes; creating, administering and grading using appropriate assessment methods; holding office hours and providing additional support for students outside the class time periods; calculating and submitting grades for all students; collaborating with the chair and faculty of the Finance Department to create coursework and support the department’s mission; following established expectations and protocols for the department and to stay current in the field. Regular Faculty are expected to conduct research in their associated field.
