Visas Accepted H1B Specialty Nephrology Practice Details Sanford Health is seeking a Board Eligible/ Board Certified Nephrologist to join the Sanford Health Clinic located in Fargo, North Dakota. • Transplant training/experience preferred but not required. • Fargo nephrology staff includes 5 Physicians, 2 Transplant Surgeons and 3 Advanced Practice Providers; Pre- and Post-Transplant Coordinators, Social Workers, and a Quality Coordinator. • Program includes well-trained nursing and support staff. • Position is a mix of approximately 20% transplant and 80% general nephrology. • HLA lab located in the clinic • Clinic hours: M-F, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM • Practice is approximately 35% clinic; 40% hospital consults; 25% dialysis • Call Varies: 6-8 days per month; current call rotates approximately one week/month per physician • Position includes outreach • Research and teaching opportunities available Community Description ABOUT SANFORD HEALTH IN FARGO Three Sanford Health Medical Center campuses in Fargo/Moorhead area State-of-the-art one-million-square-foot medical center opened in 2017, with 302 beds Level I Adult Trauma Center supported by AirMed services covering a three-state area FARGO COMMUNITY The Fargo-Moorhead and West Fargo metro area is a diverse, family-oriented community of 216,000 people that offers high quality of life and low cost of living. Job Description Nephrology Definition Core Privileges include the ability to perform history and physical examination, admit (if applicable to setting), evaluate, diagnose, treat, and provide consultation to adolescent and adult patients presenting with illnesses and disorders of the kidney, high blood pressure, fluid and mineral balance, and dialysis of body wastes when the kidneys do not function. Qualifications M.D. or D.O. degree. Experience can be demonstrated in one of the following ways and should be reflective of the privileges being requested: An applicant who has just completed a fellowship provides his/her fellowship log. OR An applicant who is not applying directly out of a fellowship shall provide a quality profile from the hospital(s) where he/she currently has privileges showing his/her clinical activity for the past 12 months, including numbers of procedures performed morbidity, mortality, infection rates, and other complications. The applicant must be able to demonstrate active involvement in at least 50 nephrology cases in the last 12 months. OR If a quality profile is not available from the hospital(s) where the applicant currently has privileges, documentation of the applicant’s clinical setting activity for the last 12 months is required. The applicant must be able to demonstrate active involvement in the care of 50 nephrology cases in clinical practice in the last 12 months. More education and experience may be required the more advanced the practice becomes. Successful completion Internal Medicine residency program, and completion of a fellowship in Nephrology accredited by the ACGME, the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) or the Royal College of Physician and Surgeons of Canada in the residency. Training at residency and fellowship programs accredited by organizations other than the above, may be considered via the waiver of eligibility process as defined in the Credentialing Policy. Certification in the primary area of practice by the appropriate specialty/ subspecialty board of the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS), the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) or the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, as applicable. Those applicants who are not board certified at the time of application but who have completed their fellowship training within the last five years shall be eligible, however must achieve board certification within five years from the date of completion of their fellowship training unless the appropriate governing Board waives such requirement.
