The Data Scientist II supports the Sales team in the region. With the objective of driving revenue growth and implementing new initiatives, he/she plays a vital role in analysing and understanding revenue drivers through a detailed understanding of our partners’ business model, competitive environment, the online travel industry and market trends. Key stakeholders of the team are the Regional Sales VP, Sales teams and Commercial Finance. Day-to-day activities include identifying new growth opportunities and subsequently implementing new initiatives, analysing the cause of changes in revenue performance, partner-level deep-dive analysis, identifying supply gaps and improving conversion rates, and building scalable tools to accelerate speed to insights. As a member of the Partner Analytics team, the Data Scientist will have the opportunity to develop initiatives and strategies by working cross-functionally and bringing together insights from both the demand and supply environment. This includes a broad spectrum of the analytics organization at E4B and across brands, such as lodging supply, Commercial Finance, Strategy, Revenue Optimization and Product & Technology. He/she will be accountable for deciding analytical, measurement and process approaches for analysing revenue performance. The role will have the opportunity to own and develop new insights, drive new ways of working and be closely connected to the top and bottom-line outcome. This position is based in London, reporting to a Senior Manager in Analytics. Specific Responsibilities: Maintain/develop certain key reports Grow partner revenue through optimisation and new business strategies Provide direction on business priorities based on expected opportunity size Conduct a “deep-dive” analysis at a partner or market level Provide recommendations to improve revenue to partners, stakeholders, and the leadership team Analyse revenue performance and trends in the region Support Sales teams on business development initiatives and analysis requests from E4B partners Measure KPI performance, including revenue, competitive and supply metrics Evaluate revenue risk for new strategies and initiatives and develop strategies to mitigate risks Analyse conversion rates and conversion drivers Required Experience and Qualifications Technical: Excellent SQL skills, with the ability to write SQL from scratch. Good understanding of databases. We work mostly with Teradata, Presto and/or Hive, but experience with other flavours of SQL is welcome (Required) Experience with reporting and data visualisation tools (Tableau). Connexions to databases and job scheduling (Required) Basic understanding of statistics and probability (Required) Decent coding skills in Python (Nice to have) Other: Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex analysis in an easily understandable way by targeting messages to the audience Proven track record of identifying growth opportunities and implementing solutions to realise them Strong understanding of revenue drivers and commercial environment Ability to handle and analyse large amounts of data.
