What we're looking for: 

The Senior Manager of Product Delivery & Quality is responsible for ensuring our global curriculum production team is effectively delivering high-quality programs across all of 2U and edX’s product lines. The Senior Manager of Product Delivery & Quality is responsible for leading a global team across the United States and Cape Town, South Africa that execute quality reviews to deliver accurate student and instructor-ready content as well as ensure we are delivering these programs effectively within our learning management system. 

The Senior Manager of Product Delivery & Quality is a voice for, and driver of, consistent quality approaches across all Curriculum Production teams and will establish a culture and a process that result in higher product quality and overall student and instructor satisfaction. To do so successfully will require the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders, lead through influence, and thrive in an atmosphere of continuous change while ensuring clear, consistent and reliable communication across stakeholders and teams. 

Key Role and Responsibilities: 

  1. Establish, maintain, and manage a team to execute on a product life cycle-based portfolio of quality assurance services (end-to-end technical reviews, rapid-response bug management, pilot initiative testing) that include definition, process, timeline, appropriate deliverables and artifacts, and tracking. 
    1. Establish and maintain a portfolio of quality services, including processes and templates. 
    2. Ensure team members are consistently tracking and reporting on quality metrics, systematically managing daily bug flow, and managing key quality review projects. 
  2. Build a data-driven culture around quality, with robust reporting on bug intake, resolution velocity, and effectiveness of key quality initiatives. 
  3. Utilize data to recommend data-driven product improvement opportunities. 
    1. Provide ongoing project status updates to academic leadership; address and resolve challenges and demonstrate a commitment to continuous improvement. 
    2.  Deliver presentations and lead training sessions on our products to internal and external stakeholders. 
  4.  Develop online product delivery solutions that drive operational efficiency, improve student outcomes, and lead to stronger quality metrics across Boot Camp products. 
    1. Ensure accurate and efficient course setup and weekly content syncs in our learning management system. 
    2. Ensure our Learning team members have the tools, processes, and coaching support they need to successfully deliver curriculum in our learning management system. 
    3.  Establish cost-effective ways to scale project-based quality review, including leveraging vendor and/or Cape Town resources where appropriate. 
  5. Support our Learning team in developing strategies for development and delivery of new products and instructional models. 
    1. Establish best practices to support delivery of emerging instructional models in our learning management system.  
    2. Represent the Learning team in cross-functional initiatives aimed at improving operational efficiency and quality metrics. 

 Education and Experience:

  • Desired years of experience
    • Bachelor’s degree required.
    • 4 years of experience in operations, project management, quality assurance, product delivery or curriculum development.
    • 3 years of experience working with technical subject matter experts and teams of editorial experts. 
  • Required Skills:
    • Demonstrated success in driving solutions in a fast-paced and rapidly-evolving environment. 
    • Strong technical background with an ability to interact effectively with technical stakeholders.
    • Demonstrated success leading cross-functional initiatives involving change management and leading through influence.
    • Strong familiarity with defect tracking systems (Jira, ZenDesk), GitHub, Salesforce and learning management systems.
    • Demonstrated ability to juggle multiple projects and changing priorities in a dynamic environment.
    • Experience in creating and managing work plans, identifying the most critical priorities in a program, providing clear status updates to stakeholders, and managing project risks.
    • Excellent spoken and written communications, especially stakeholder-facing presentation skills. 
  • Additional preferred skills
    • Subject-matter experience in one or more of the following technical topics (Data Analytics, Cybersecurity, Coding, Product Management, etc.).

In Colorado, the anticipated base salary for this role is $106,000.00 with potential bonus and equity eligibility. Note: The final compensation for this position may consider factors including the geographic location where the work is performed (candidate’s assigned office) and prior work experience of the candidate.
