Apprentice Butcher

307 Meat Company is Wyoming's newest and most modern USDA inspected meat processing plant. 307 Meat Company is dedicated to sustainable local food production, specializing in assisting direct to consumer meat companies. We are seeking self motivated individuals to join our production team. Successful person will need to be able to work in an team environment, cover other team members responsibilities while they are absent or working on another project. This individual will need to be able to repetitively lift and move totes weighing up to 40lbs. This person will be responsible for assisting Butcher and Butcher apprentice in cutting beef, lamb and pork products, specifically removing meat from bone, cleaning cuts from the cutting process, tenderizing meat, traying meat, and moving trays and lugs to appropriate locations, as well as other assigned duties. Willingness to learn about the meat industry and our wide selection of products is key to your success at here 307 Meat Company. This is important so you can inform and educate our customers to the best of your ability. Standard hours of work are from 6:45am to 4:30pm with a half an hour lunch. 4-5 hours of overtime per week is normal. Position starts at $13.50 per hour with no experience, six week probationary period after which skill level is assessed and pay rate is adjusted, potential to be at $17.00 per hour within 6 months.
