SUMMARY: The Email Automation Specialist is someone with a strong passion for growing and converting audiences through effective email marketing. This role is essential in helping our automation team to deliver email marketing campaigns end-to-end, managing email databases, creating newsletters and email marketing campaigns. This role will work collaboratively to help design and execute email marketing campaigns that leverage the tools available in our email platform to deliver targeted customer communications with the goal of engaging current customers and converting potential customers. This position will execute email campaigns and provide reporting and analytics related to those campaigns.
The ideal candidate is someone who pays attention to detail, is a self-starter, a strategic thinker when it comes to solving operational issues. The Email Automation Specialist will be responsible for engaging customers and prospects, nurturing leads through the buying journey, building campaign workflows, and creating hyper-targeted segments. The role requires a high degree of collaboration to drive an audience-first approach.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Execute email marketing campaigns to maintain regular communication with various audience segments and customer & buyer personas with a focus on acquisition and retention
- Build high-converting recurring and one-off campaigns as well as complex event- and trigger-based lifecycle flows
- Build email templates using brand standards, design & copy requirements while maintaining readability
- Use advanced segmentation rules to personalize campaign messages for improved effectiveness
- Reviewing email proofs to correct any errors, ensure readability and responsive delivery
- Implement A/B and multivariate testing strategies to continuously gain knowledge on email campaign and newsletter effectiveness
- Manage an email campaign calendar to prevent overlap of campaigns & monitor email frequency for each target audience
- Process contact/company list uploads into our database while ensuring proper data quality, attribution, and data privacy compliance
- Assist in creation and performance tracking of UTMs and reporting on necessary metrics
- Report on email campaign data to optimize performance on a weekly, monthly and as-needed basis
- Review and analysis of all email campaign reporting
- Strategize about effective ways to set up campaigns/workflows, and constantly look for ways to improve our use of our ESP
- Stay current on email marketing trends and technologies to inform future activities
- Ensure legal compliance with email rules and regulations (e.g. CAN-SPAM, GDPR)
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Advertising, Business Administration, or a related field
- Email marketing automation experience is preferred but not required
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY:
- Familiar with email marketing automation platforms
- Knowledge of CSS and HTML
- Knowledge of Google products including Data Studio and Google sheets
- Proven history of being a strong decision maker with good problem solving skills
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to achieve goals by deadlines
- Ability to concisely and accurately communicate results, suggest next steps, and execute tactics
- Strong communication skills
