Technical Communications Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Technical Communications Specialist to join our Communications team.

Summary

As part of our on-going work to strengthen our internal and external communications and improve factual storytelling that will connect target audiences to our vision and purpose, reporting to the Director of Communications, the Technical Communications Specialist will understand, review, and translate technical information into high-quality communications, presentations, plans, and other documentation. This includes working with leadership and internal teams on technology roadmaps, project plans, product, and client requirements to capture the important content for, and purpose of, technical communications.

Role and Responsibilities

• Author technical communications, training, diagrams, visualizations and other documentation for tailored to various internal and external audiences including 360 team members, leadership, stakeholders, existing and potential clients to convey key concepts and ideas.

• Develop a deep understanding of 360’s products, services (current and future), brand and business goals to translate complex information into simple, concise, professional, and engaging content.

• Listen, research, outline, write, and edit communication content, working closely with he technology team to understand vision, architectural approach, current systems, objectives, audiences, desired outcomes and requirements.

• Ability to interview, solicit and uncover key information to inform communications for the appropriate audience.

• Develop and maintain detailed database of corporate technical communication materials.

• Evaluate current content and develop innovative methods for improvement.

• Deliver within tight deadlines in an often fast-paced environment.

• Partner with Marketing teams to support external communications, marketing content and social media to evangelize technology at 360insights.

Qualifications

• 3 years of technical writing experience with a strong concentration in communication-based writing (versus instructional) for various audiences.

• Proven ability to quickly learn and understand complex subject matter.

• Superior listening skills to capture verbal communications, plans and desired outcomes into written communication and visualizations.

• Concise writing ability, to distill lengthy or complex plans/information into a digestible message that will capture the target audience without changing key information.

• Familiarity with a SaaS background and have previous proven ability to understand the features and values of technology to communicate this to various audiences.

• Experience working in or with technology, product and marketing teams is required.

• Experience working with senior leadership and predictable tight deadlines.

• Strong grammar skills paired with an inclusive writing style and language.

• Obsession with attention to detail.

• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
