Job Description PURPOSE: • To eliminate process losses on equipment or areas and drive standards and problem-solving processes. • To transfer knowledge to the Line teams and assure the proper level of skills and qualification. successfully deploy the loss elimination skills needed for the Line to deliver the line and team goals. • To ensure the Lines are not underperforming due to the lack of technical process capability or knowledge. • Provide coaching, teaching and assessment of on problem solving mechanisms. • To promote reapplication of approaches across the site and across the network. • To ensure alignment with Line Leader and Maintenance Lead, supporting the training and development of equipment/process/area/system owners. DIMENSIONS OF THIS ROLE: • Eliminate process losses on equipment or areas • Support the Line team to create process standards and coach on using standard tools to perform problem solving. • Responsible to implement, and or maintain and continuously improve the DMSs they own in their area that are typically the Centerline and Changeover DMS. RESULTS: • Product Quality Measures (PQM), i.e. product or package defects, waste, consumer complaints. • OEE / Process Reliability (PR). • Process failures, ie extended time unplanned stops of the equipment. • Process Control improvement including use and development of Centerlines. • Changeover time and startup quality. • Use of Standards / OPL’s / Rapid Change Over. • Yield losses per line. • Owns results for clean, inspect and lube; centerline management system, 5S system, integrity of process data, and Oscar scrap elimination system. KEY DELIVERABLES: • Actively participate in Line Daily Direction Setting (DDS) meetings and execution of the daily plan, including reporting on the following results the previous 24 hours: • Centerline completion and compliance • Change Over adherence to plan and critiques • Design, implement and maintain systems to collect and analyze data for critical product and process parameters. • Use this data to identify process losses. • Work with line management to prioritize improvement opportunities. • Eliminate or reduce (prioritized) losses through making process or work system changes. • Participate in the daily direction-setting process – report results, flag issues and request resources. • Own critical daily management systems, e.g. centerlining (run-totarget). • Use Reliability Engineering and day analysis tools to drive centerlining and loss elimination. • Standardize equipment and work processes. Own the change management system for a designated process. Update process control strategies and operating procedures as changes occur. • Share and reapply learning across processes, modules, and plants. • Prepare and give training on process/equipment changes. • Develop him/ herself through participating in corporate and external training. • Take part on planned stops and RCO’s flowing to the line as needed • Standardize and improve RCO’s • Spend 80% of his/her time on the floor. • Become a technical expert for a designated process. • Qualify on all basic operating roles. • Coach and collaborate with the line teams and site. • Plan & maintain continuous improvement • To identify, prioritize and eliminate process losses • To build the process capability & control • To provide feedback to design and lead smart standardization deployment • To define the equipment standards • To lead the change management & validation processes • To lead and build the capability of process failures technical troubleshooting • To lead process benchmarking & reapplication. • Collaborate with Line Leader and Equipment Owners to develop new standards. • Eliminate yield losses. KEY RELATIONSHIPS: • Line Centric Leaders: Process Owner, Relaibility Engineer, Team Leaders. • Engineers, QA Technicians and Operators. • Support functions: H&S, FSQ, HR, Finance, Planning, KHMS Site Lead EXPERTISE, EXPERIENCE & KNOWLEDGE: • Basic IWS / HPO training • Demonstrated ability to assimilate technical data to support recommendations • Good experience of Problem Solving in production area • Familiarity with structured problem solving tools • Experience of using Microsoft Office and specifically excel of other analytical applications • Six Sigma qualification preferred.
