Summary:

3D Imaging is a small contract research company engaging in production and use of radiopharmaceuticals, primarily for use in PET scanning. We also produce radiopharmaceuticals for clinical trial and use. Our clients are Pharma and biotechnology companies, governmental agencies such as NIH, NCTR, and FDA, and investigators at UAMS. Methods typically used are those of synthetic organic and inorganic chemistry, radiochemistry. Experiments performed include in vitro assays, animal studies of biodistribution with PET, human PET studies, and human clinical research using PET.

The Production Associate works under supervision of the Lab Director and is responsible for production of radiopharmaceuticals and research materials. This position is also responsible for certain calibration, operation, maintenance, and repair tasks on laboratory equipment including a Siemens Eclipse cyclotron and an ACSI TR-19 cyclotron (particle accelerators) according to cGMP and safety regulations.

Essential Job Duties:

This position is a Safety Sensitive Position. The essential functions, physical demands and mental competencies of this job require the employee maintain the ability to work in a constant state of alertness in a safe manner.

2. Perform general troubleshooting of cyclotron and support systems, including high voltage Rf systems, vacuum systems, and targetry systems.

3. Perform operation and routine maintenance and repair of cyclotron and support systems

4. Perform target installation and radionuclide processing

5. Support, repair, and calibrate existing laboratory equipment and production systems.

6. Design and install remote processing systems and maintain existing systems as required.

7. Preparation of radiolabeled materials and radiopharmaceuticals, some for human use.

8. Performs other laboratory duties as assigned

9. This position is scheduled to work Monday through Friday with occasional on-call, after hours and weekend work.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, or related, is required

2. Additional experience or education, especially in high voltage, RF, ultra-high vacuum, and radioactive materials, is preferred. Training in radioactive materials and on all equipment used will be provided

3. Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings as well as technical manuals

4. Computer and programming skills are preferred.

Work requires adherence to precise procedures and standards involving a high degree of accuracy. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate and exchange information accurately, including but not limited to:

1. Excellent judgment and discretion: ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously, meet deadlines, and handle work-related stress professionally is required.

2. Good written and verbal communication skills required.

Physical Demands:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

This position moves intermittently throughout the workday. Ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. This position requires frequent standing/walking, bending/stooping, lifting/handling, pushing/pulling and occasional carrying.

Pay: $39,856.68 - $47,999.44 per year
