Job Description
Under limited supervision, the Technical Writer will create and revise technical documents to support the creation of a modernized data estate for a state agency.
Products to be created include technical manuals for the collection and management of agency data assets, the creation of a knowledge repository for all related applications and policies, a data visualization style guide for agency staff, user guides for newly-released applications, and other related projects.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Write and edit technical documents, including technical manuals and a knowledge repository.
- Write and edit user guides.
- Determine the type of publication that will best serve the project requirements.
- Engage with staff to ensure staff input.
- Assess audience needs for whom the technical and procedural documentation are intended.
- Coordinate writing processes and set timelines and deadlines.
- Create or work with graphic designers to create diagrams, charts, and other visual aids to assist readers in understanding a product or process.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
