At Batesville, LLC you will be part of a diverse culture to solve unique industry challenges, provides exceptional service and help meet the needs of families in communities nationwide.  Batesville is looking for a Maintenance Supervisor – 3rd shift to join our team in Manchester, TN. As a Maintenance Supervisor you will be responsible for Plans, directs, and coordinates activities concerned with design, construction, modification, and maintenance of the plant’s equipment and facilities.  Analyze and recommend changes to improve the efficiency of the plant operations.

What you’ll do:

  • Lead, direct, develop, and manage associates engaged in mechanical, electrical/electronics repair along with the parts and materials area.
  • Resource planning including project/work order materials availability, PPE, and work permits.
  • Accountability for policy deployment metrics (i.e., safety, order fill rate, and lost cycles) along with root cause analysis and countermeasure recommendations.
  • Interaction and coordination with quality, production, and engineering to plan preventive maintenance programs/work orders and to schedule inspections and major overhauls.
  • Manage the computerized maintenance management system.
  • Review inspection and repair reports and observe progress of work on unplanned downtime and planned major overhauls to evaluate efficiency and work quality.
  • Review technical drawings and other reference materials to select and recommend new supplies and maintenance methods to improve plant operation.
  • Confer and assist contractors to resolve problems with the installation of new equipment.
  • Paint booth cleanouts with cleanup crew
  • Other duties may be assigned.

 

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Directly supervises employees in the Maintenance Team. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the Company policies, the Code of Ethical Business Conduct and applicable laws.
  • Responsibilities include interviewing and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

 

Travel

Employee must be able to travel 5% of the time.

 

Basic Requirements:

  • Highschool or GED without a maintenance certification or degree, need three plus years of maintenance of industrial equipment in a manufacturing environment or mechanical engineering
  • Four or more years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to train, manage, lead, and/or understand LEAN or CI activities and initiatives.
  • Basic computer skills

 

Great to Haves:

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) or equivalent from a college or university in Engineering or Maintenance
  • Management/supervision experience with an emphasis on scheduling, safety, project completion, and lost cycle
  • Experience in JD Edwards and AutoCAD
  • Union environment experience
