POSITION SUMMARY
The Credit Analyst assesses risk of industries that our Business Services lending area has exposure in order to strengthen our business member relationships. Assures all analysis, recommendations and decisions adhere to federal and state regulations, laws and statutes. Manages business credit files to assure information on accounts are in compliance with all appropriate regulations.

Incorporates critical thinking in preparing financial analysis of credit relationship determining opportunities and threats of the business relationship. Tactical/technical savvy in analyzing cash flows by applying cost accounting principles for risk rating and financial statements to determine the hypothetical risks surrounding our Business Services credit relationship.

Explains concepts in layman’s terms by preparing the Commercial Credit Analyst Report to the Lending Committee with recommendation of decision. Effectively communicates by recommending risk strategies to maintain a sound Business Service credit portfolio.

What does this position do?
Evaluates the impact of decisions to effectively meet business needs and ensure team members have the expertise and resources needed to support the membership. Respond positively to scope changes and curveballs for the good of the organization’s future state & member benefit. This position needs to reflect the business model through identifying friction points and making changes that positively influence the team member and member experience environment.

Who does this position work with to get the job done?
Routinely collaborates with all resource centers to ensure that communication is consistent and that membership needs are met in a timely and efficient manner. Provides flexible and responsive support to the entire workforce in order to produce results year after year.

What does the work from this position produce or generate?
Provides the internal team with the same trio of sales/service/support we all provide to the membership on a daily basis. This position needs to create a team member experience that mirrors our member experience in an operational environment. Provides insight into deepening engagement as well as growth and retention opportunities through research, compilation and reporting for successful strategic and tactical actions. This position also creates and presents reports to/for management, and champions consultation with team members to ensure understanding/resolution.

Work Environment

  • Normal accessibility of branch and corporate work sites required for the position.

Knowledge Requirements

  • Proficiency with MS Office, risk modeling software programs, and commercial lending programs
  • Familiarity with commercial law and regulatory requirements
  • Working knowledge of commercial lending services and related areas
  • Thorough understanding of loan documentation issues and procedures
  • Ability to manage several tasks on a daily basis.
  • Exceptional member service skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Adheres to all federal, state and credit union regulations and policies.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field or applicable experience
  • 1-2 years of related experience
