JOB SUMMARY:
The Warehouse Associate 2 is responsible and accountable for safely operating forklifts and/or material handling equipment for the purposes of picking and storing bulk items in a narrow high-capacity racking system. This position is also responsible for cross-functional distribution duties that include receiving, shipping and packing that meet the high standards of safety, quality, and productivity while providing a high level of internal customer service.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Counting, sorting and weighing all incoming products and authenticating the receipt of same in accordance with SOPs
- Utilize RF scanners to scan barcodes
- Keeps a log of al received products as well as disposition of final location
- Records shipment data, such as weight and charges for reporting, accounting and recordkeeping purposes
- Review incoming shipments and other records to determine receiving priority and receiving methods to meet distribution demand
- Safe operation of semi-automatic stretch-wrapping machine
- Knowledge of operating systems (M3)
- May safely operate powered industrial trucks (forklifts) to load/unload materials
- May be assigned to different workstations to meet production needs
- Ability to work overtime as needed
- Maintains an orderly and safe work environment by following work instruction from Supervisor/Safety Coordinator
SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE
- High School education or equivalent
- Minimum 4 years’ experience in a warehouse environment utilizing reach trucks/order pickers and narrow aisle electronic reach/truck order picker equipment
- Experience with RF scanners
- Knowledge of general warehouse duties is essential
- ERP experience
- FedEx and UPS shipping system experience
- Acceptable PC skills
- Excellent verbal and communication skills
- Good organizational skills\
- Works with little supervision
