POSITION SUMMARY: The Tax Specialist position exists to review incoming tax notices on existing customers to ensure that all information is received, and/or the necessary information is obtained. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Works a sequence of accounts daily. Performs follow-up for existing accounts in a timely manner. Researches tax bills, payments and obtains tax receipts and certificates. Communicates with tax offices, internal departments, attorneys, land/park owners, and customers to obtain tax information. Uses information to process tax payments for customers. Processes refunds and escrow adjustments as needed. Exhibits high level of judgment and discretion. Performs other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or equivalent, college is a plus. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and other applications. Ability to communicate effectively and efficiently via phone, email, and person to person. Capable of gathering facts accurately, analyzing causes, evaluating alternate solutions, and arriving at sound conclusions on action to be taken. Ability to manage multiple and/or conflicting responsibilities within a fast-paced environment. Great attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to work in a team environment. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Must be able to remain in a stationary position 75% of the time. Constantly operate a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a telephone, calculator, copy machine, and computer printer. 90% communication methods completed over the phone. Must be able to exchange accurate information at all times. Ability to identify and assess account status and determine appropriate process.
