POSITION OVERVIEW
The Accounting Manager position will be responsible for analyzing complex financial records and reports, regulating and authenticating financial transactions, balancing accounts, confirming and verifying bank statements on behalf of the company, and maintaining a ledger to ensure effectiveness and accuracy of all accounting tasks. This role will report to the Controller and as a key member of the Finance team, they must have a thorough knowledge of accounting procedures, including preparing month-end reports and financial forecasts.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
· Establish integrity of accounting information by recording, verifying, consolidating, and entering transactions in accordance with GAAP standards
· Complete month-end close procedures, including transferring subsidiary accounting, performing adjusting entries
· Manage shared services accounting staff for billing, collections, payroll, and financial reporting
· Prepare monthly general ledger account reconciliations and state financials
· Ensure accounting processes meet the need for any operational accounting implications
· Analyze financial and operational data towards the production of forecasting materials/discussion including cash flow forecasting
· Work with auditors by providing necessary/requested support to facilitate financial and compliance audits
· Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal taxes and regulations
· Prepare and analyze production costs in accordance with the company costing methodology
· Maintain a strong partnership with Operations and Management teams, identifying cost-saving opportunities, process improvements, and automation
· Provide financial, operational, and cost analysis support for management
· Assist with preparation of quarterly Audit Committee materials
· Additional duties as assigned
WORKING CONDITIONS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee primarily will work indoors in an office setting. The employee is required to wear personal protective equipment under appropriate circumstances. Lift and carry materials weighing up to 30 pounds.
· Operate a variety of standard office equipment including a computer, telephone, calculator, copy, and fax machine requiring continuous and repetitive arm, hand, and eye movement
· Occasional travel to/from meetings and to various locations
QUALIFICATIONS
· Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
· 5 years of experience in a Sr. Accountant role
· CPA (preferred)
· Strong Microsoft Excel, QuickBooks, and data management skills
· Excellent leadership, collaboration, and communication skills
· Ability to work well under pressure in an agile, fast-paced environment
· Ability to work autonomously while providing effective communication to leadership
· Strong analytical and quantitative skills and superior accounting skills
· Highly responsive and reliable
· Strong attention to detail
