- Writes all grants for 4KIDS with review by the Director of Partner Engagement and other relevant persons as warranted
- Submits letters of interests, proposals, follow-up reports, and other information to funders and potential funders
- Researches foundations and funders through various methods
- Performs correspondence and acknowledgements for all granting organizations; timely mailing of funder acknowledgements and stewardship pieces
- Assists at events and organization-wide occasions as needed
- Maintains the confidentiality of donors, department and organization at all times
- Develop and implement a plan for the identification, cultivation and solicitation of grant-making Companies/Foundations
- Ensures the development of new strategies to leverage and secure new resources from private, corporate, non-profit and government sources in support of established goals and objectives set forth in the annual grants budget.
- Responsible for securing and managing the renewals of the annual grant revenue budget
- Identify, apply for and coordinate the administration of federal, state, local, foundation and corporate grants in accordance to applicable standards, regulations and guidelines
- Meets grant and proposal deadlines by establishing priorities and target dates, for information-gathering, document preparation, document review and approval
- Assists the Vice President of Programs and other related Program Directors to ensure that grant contracts are executed, per deadlines
- Participates in prospective funder, community partner, and internal grants meetings
- Submits applicable progress reports on status of grants and outcome achievements to designated staff and funders
- Initiates and develops relationships with prospective funders; maintains strong relationships with existing funding sources
- Maintains working knowledge on current fundraising practices in the non-profit/children’s services sector through reading, participating in seminars and other educational opportunities, and professional contacts
- Bachelor's degree in business, communications, public administration, or related field preferred
- Proficiency with databases and Microsoft Office
- Minimum 3-5 years grant writing experience with foundations, government (local, state, and federal) contracts and corporations
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Efficient time management skills with a strong ability to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously, while paying extreme attention to detail and accuracy
- Sound judgement and strong decision making ability
