Accounting Supervisor

Position Summary

Under general supervision, applies principles of accounting to oversee Accounts Payable processes as well as other accounting functions. Responsible for providing leadership to two AP Specialists. Complete weekly John Deere reconciliation as well as posting of open items. Accountable for weekly payment runs, and back up for certain treasury functions. Ownership of digital AP workflow system and processes, including training for new hires. Complete certain account reconciliations and month end journal entries, as well as posting of all warranty credits.

Essential Duties

• Provide leadership to AP Staff ensuring all duties are completed timely and accurately
• Complete John Deere Sales Center (JDSC) account reconciliation weekly
• Ensure timely and accurate posting of all open items on JDSC reconciliation each week
• Follow up with branch personnel to ensure timely and accurate receipting of parts inventory
• Support AP with weekly payment runs, including cash requirements reconciliation
• Ownership of digital AP workflow system, including system administration and follow up on aging invoices with store locations
• Parts invoice entry, including variance reconciliation with parts personnel
• Management and follow up on all parts purchase orders / purchase returns
• General Ledger account reconciliations
• Timely and accurate posting of all warranty credits
• Month end journal entries, as assigned
• Complete annual 1099 filings
• Treasury responsibilities, including daily banking (alternating with Staff Accountant)
• Identify and recommend updates to accounts payable processes and procedures
• Other duties as assigned by Director of Finance and CFO
  
  

OTHER DUTIES:

• Back-up for outgoing ACH and wire payments
• Back-up for daily deposit, tills, and posting of customer payments
• Training on digital AP workflow, as required
  
  

Education And Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business
• 3-5 years experience in professional accounting role
• 2-5 years supervisory experience
  
  

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

• Knowledge of Generally Accepting Accounting Principles
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office products
• Commitment to excellent customer service, leadership and teamwork
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities
  
  

LOCATION:

• With corporate offices in both Commerce City and Greeley, travel between both locations will be necessary
  
  

Physical Effort

• Light physical effort required by handling objects up to 20 pounds occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently.
