Become a Technical Skills Training Analyst at Southern California Edison (SCE) and build a better tomorrow. In this job, you will be responsible for providing sophisticated analytical and programmatic support to our Transmission & Distribution Training programs. This Analyst will facilitate and supervise program readiness, establish new processes (or refine/validate old versions), provide a variety of reports, analyzing multiple (potentially sophisticated) data sets and compose recommendations based on findings. You will also lead in efforts to capture/generate data, analyze and prepare moderate to sophisticated ad-hoc training reports for management review (e.g. course history, attendance, on-the-job training, and knowledge tests). In this role you will be comfortable in operating in a fast-paced environment, embrace diverse team dynamics and will know how to manage changing to priorities.

  • Provide analytical program support by developing and implementing communications for new/current students (e.g. class dates, class changes).
  • Prepare, distribute, track, and analyze pertinent class materials such as manuals, tools, rosters, class tests, evaluations, and assessments for instructors.
  • Process Non-Purchase Orders and Material Ordering for payment.
  • Partner with Training Managers/peer Analysts and/or Accounts Payable to resolve budget discrepancies.
  • Present findings and recommendations to management, clients, other partners, and/or business line employees.
  • Act as a subject matter specialist in assigned training programs for accurate and precise document management.
  • Participate in program meetings, craft meeting minutes with action item tracking, review with school management and distribute accordingly.
  • Provide program and/or project support for existing and new training initiatives.
  • Identify and provide recommendations for continuous improvement opportunities within the department.
  • Optimally communicate issues, risks and provide status updates to management regarding workflow activities.
  • Collaborate cross functionally within the T&D Training Schools, Employee Learning and Development, and other SCE organizations to gather information required to resolve training delivery issues, share survey feedback, and ensure overall effectiveness of training content and delivery.
Qualifications

The essentials

  • Three years of experience in an analytical position, performing detailed analysis, querying, investigating and resolving problems as well as drawing conclusions from data and complex information.
  • Three years of experience providing support to various projects/programs with Microsoft Excel performing advanced functions such as VLOOKUP’s, pivot tables, filtering/sorting, charts and graphing.

The preferred

  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • Experience utilizing Power BI for data dashboard development and maintenance.
  • Experience with pulling, tracking, or validating data from SAP.
  • Two years of experience planning, organizing and coordinating tasks while maintaining high levels of accuracy and attention to detail and meeting assigned deadlines.
  • Experience working with Success Factors.
  • Experience using Microsoft Access.
  • Experience collaborating in fast pace environment with cross-functional groups including peers, clients, management, and other organizations.
  • Experience using Microsoft Suite applications including MS SharePoint to create, manage and maintain document libraries
  • Strong written, oral and interpersonal skills.

You should know

  • This position’s work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days. Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to reside in the state of California. Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage.

  • Position will require up to 10% traveling and being out in the field throughout the SCE service territory.

  • This position requires testing and applicants who are identified to continue through the selection process will be invited to test via email. Reference our Information Guides for the following tests: Edison Individual Contributor Workstyles (Test #8203). Candidates who have previously passed these assessment(s), in some cases, may not need to retest again for this position.
