Summary: Responsible for a variety of accounting tasks, including, but not limited to, monthly closeout, account reconciliation and fixed asset accounting. Responsibilities: Researches and analyzes invoices and Authority for Expenditure (AFE) documents related to capital projects Ensures that each project has proper Financial Approval Authority based on established guidelines Tracks spending on projects and completes necessary reports and reconciliation Completes all accounting functions related to the disposition of assets (retirements, sales, transfers) Works in conjunction with construction and operations to ensure proper tracking and accounting procedures Analyzes project expenditures and places them into appropriate asset categories and asset lives Enters information into the Fixed Asset System Performs General Ledger reconcilements Completes Management Self Testing of key internal controls Assists Fixed Asset Accountants by researching issues and conducting other non-routine tasks Completes other duties, including special projects, as assigned by Management Education Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree in an Accounting or Finance Previous accounting experience with the company is a plus See Grade Level Distinctions Skill Requirements: Knowledge of Word, Excel, and other MS Office suite applications Knowledge of accounting procedures and principals Experience with mainframe application a plus Excellent organizational and communication skills Good understanding of intra-department functions and operations Ability to research and resolve issues Ability to perform repeated bending, standing and reaching Ability to occasionally lift up to 40 pounds EEO Statement Speedway is an Equal Opportunity Employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, veteran's status, or, any other protected characteristic.
