540 is looking for an Cloud Ops Lead (AWS) to help the Army support an infrastructure team in multiple cloud systems involving Microsoft, Linux, and various cloud native services hosted in AWS. This team is responsible for creating, maintaining, and monitoring AWS accounts in the Army environment.
Location: Primarily remote within the continental United States with occasional travel (up to 10% expected). East Coast hours with some flexibility
Citizenship & Clearance Requirement: per client requirements, must be a US Citizen with ability to obtain an active DoD Secret clearance
Education Requirement: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related engineering field (preferred)

REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- 8 years of hands on experience with CloudOps / DevSecOps / IT Administration
- 5 years of Amazon Web Services (AWS) proficiency in the following:
- ECS (Fargate) or EKS
- EC2
- Lambda
- S3
- RDS
- State Machines / Step Functions
- EventBridge
- CloudWatch
- IAM
- Developer Tools (Code Commit, Code Build, Code Deploy, Code Pipeline)
- 5 years experience with the following:
- Containerization and orchestration - Docker, Kubernetes
- Creating/Maintaining CI/CD pipelines - Building, Testing, and Deploying
- IaC (Infrastructure as Code) - Terraform
- Additional experience/understanding with the following:
- Deploying/Maintaining Microsoft based applications (.NET, IIS, SQL Server)
- Deploying/Maintaining Linux based applications (RHEL, Apache, HAProxy, PostreSQL)
- Various authentication methods: PKI, OAuth, LDAP, SAML, etc
- TLS/SSL including PKI Certificates (CAC, PIV, etc.)
- High availability and scalability techniques at the app, API, and data tiers including concepts such as sharding
- Agile projects and development including Agile tools such as JIRA
- Windows Operating Systems
- Currently possesses or ability to obtain within three months the following certifications:
- AWS Certified Professional
- CompTIA Security
- CompTIA Linux
- GitLab
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently (as if on an island) with clients, but also be a consummate team player
NICE TO HAVE SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- Knowledge or Experience with the following:
- DOD Cybersecurity Policy DoDI 8500.01
- Deploying applications in DoD or other accredited federal environments that require IA certification and accreditation to deploy.
- Securing sensitive data (including security marking standards such as DoD Banner Lines or ISM)
- API Gateways
- Deploying/Maintaining some or all of the following application types - Angular, Node.js, Javascript
- Familiarity with DoD Risk Management Framework (RMF) information security requirements, standards, and best practices
- Ability to rapidly code proof of concepts to help with analysis of alternatives (should be a person who can code in mixed environments) and prove out ideas
