The Data Network Team is responsible for the deployment of data network infrastructure supporting Roche. Based on engineered standards, the team ensures that new solutions are deployed in a timely fashion to ensure service levels and customer expectations are met. As Senior Specialist Data Network Support you will consult our customers to provide the required solutions to fulfill their needs. You will be responsible for the deployment of network infrastructure in Roche affiliates & Data Centers. Main Responsibilities: Acts as a liaison to our customers within Global Infrastructure Services and with the business. Function as primary interface with the business & peers for network & facilities IT related topics through active engagement via face to face meetings, video conferences and phone calls. Develop solutions based on our engineering standards. Consult and coordinate with Roche affiliates for network specific requests. Regular coordination with vendors and third party suppliers for implementations and changes of external services. Collaborates with internal parties as well as external providers for projects, escalations and resolutions of problems. The successful candidate will possess strong technical & project coordination skills and the ability to work independently, with little direction. Creates and maintains up-to-date documentation of network operations and procedures. Ensure that the infrastructure is configured, monitored and maintained according to global standards & procedures. Experience & Skills: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent work experience with 5 year of experience in supporting and implementing complex data networks (LAN, WAN, WLAN, WAN Accelerators). Ability to work closely within virtual teams. Excellent communication skills and experience in managing and working with external vendors and service providers (telecom carriers). Experience in supporting global wide area networks and remote local area networks in multiple locations. Working knowledge of security devices such as firewalls, proxies and VPNs in addition to a strong understanding of authentication and data encryption. Strong knowledge of troubleshooting methodologies as they apply to resolving complex technical network problems. Experience using packet capture devices for network troubleshooting. Working knowledge of Voice over IP and IP Telephony services as well as Quality of Service (QoS) and Power over Ethernet (PoE). Expert knowledge of the TCP/IP protocol suite. Strong knowledge in network routing and switching theory and protocols especially with BGP and OSPF. Knowledge of ITIL as a model for Operations support. Fluent English language skills (written and spoken). Spanish or Portuguese a benefit. Active CCNA / CCNP or similar certification a benefit. Experience with scripting & automation (Ansible, Python, Perl etc.) a benefit. Experience with virtualization & containerization a benefit. Cisco Wireless Network Design, troubleshooting, Implementation, and Optimization Must have working knowledge of 802.11 WLAN design and 802.11x protocols In-depth technical knowledge in DC network, Campus network and SD WAN.
