Basic Function:
To oversee 603 Manufacturing’s Quality Management System, maintain compliance to the Quality Manual and AS9100, and manage quality control and assurance personnel. Responsible for all compliance certifications as it relates to Manufacturing, Quality and Materials.
Responsibilities:
- Manage work assignments in staffing, scheduling, coordinating and planning of personnel engaged in all inspection activities.
- Create, develop, and maintain incoming, in-process, and final inspection methods and records needed to demonstrate compliance to customer requirements.
- Review Sales Orders to ensure compliance to all contractually imposed Quality Clauses.
- Review proposed production process for conformance to quality standards.
- Collect and report on incoming, in-process, and final inspection results in support of Management Review of the QMS.
- Report on and track any significant deviations from quality standards and established goals and recommend corrective actions and risk mitigation to appropriate management.
- Review Nonconformance-Corrective Action Log for completion and to identify the need for Corrective action.
- Participate in new product development and Production Readiness Reviews to ensure proper quality assurance and control plans can be implemented prior to beginning production.
- Visit Suppliers and Customers to review and disposition quality concerns and issues when needed.
- Act as liaison for all matters relating to the quality of produced goods.
- Determine validity of customer complaints via customer contact, documentation interpretation, and/or visual or electrical inspection of returned goods.
- Coordinate, support, and oversee all First Article Inspections, Customer Source Inspections, and Supplier Corrective Action Requests.
- Complete quality surveys received from current or potential customers.
- Review and reconcile all Customer Score Cards.
- Develop continuous improvement plans as needed.
- Ensure compliance with established policies and procedures.
- Maintain AS9100 requirements and procedures as needed.
- Manage all internal and external audits to successful closure.
- Oversee calibration of all measuring equipment within organization.
- Maintain and oversee Document Control department, procedures, and resources.
- Provide Quality data for Management Review Meetings and Operations Meetings.
- Coordinate, prepare for, and conduct Management Review Meetings.
- Coordinate, prepare for, and conduct Internal Audits in support of AS9100:D.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Monitor the Government-Industry Data Exchange Program website for material alerts and respond as necessary.
- Conduct monthly/quarterly Quality Review Meetings with Manufacturing and Engineering personnel.
- Post Quality Metrics in key production areas monthly.
- Oversee requirements for various operator certifications and schedule training to maintain current certifications.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain an effective organization through the selection, training, compensation, motivation, termination, and review of all QA assigned employees.
- Develop and maintain a program for sound employee relations with QA assigned employees.
- Provide guidance and direction to employees to assist them in their professional development.
- Supervise Quality Inspectors to ensure performance of all internal and external quality checks.

Education/Training:
Bachelor’s degree in electrical or mechanical discipline, or extensive industry training preferred (Minimum Associates Degree).
