Job Description: GENERAL SUMMARY Responsible for safety and all manufacturing operations at the plant. Ensure that production is ongoing to meet customer requirements. Regularly makes and implements decisions regarding the manufacturing processes, cost of production, manpower planning, evaluation of materials and product quality and coordinates labor relations with the assistance of Human Resources manager. Will likely serve as the second in command in the plant. Comply with the established procedures of Cooper Standard BTO procedures and operating systems like IATF or ISO. Interact and lead all the support areas to accomplish the Operations KPI´s. Define and follow up strategies to support goal accomplishment. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSABILITIES Address any safety near miss or incident through the alert system. Perform a RCA and implement corrective actions. Work on the preventive side of safety, doing observations of unsafe conditions and actions. Directs and supervises all operations employees in the plant. Develops, implements, and monitors production plans to meet customer requirements. Coordinates with other functional departments to ensure coordinated operation of the plant. Responsible for Operations to meet Quality, Delivery, Safety, Cost and Engagement/Labor relations requirements. Lead activities and teams regarding SCRAP reduction programs. Assure that Quality Basics are implemented at the site and followed as a systemic tool. Be part of the leadership team whenever an 8D report needs to be created. Perform a daily Gemba walk for quality and safety issues. Daily follow up to key metrics and key process variables. Oversee WIP and materials inventory. Supports Lean Continuous Improvement efforts and supports all Launch/Program Management requirements. Develops, implements, and monitors budget for Plant Operations. Develops operations talent to build a succession plan. Complies with policies and procedures pertaining to facility or divisional adopted standards such as IATF 16949. Complies with ISO 14001 according to FTM-EHS-12. Matrix of Roles Responsibility and Authority. Responsible for overall plant compliance to ISO 14001 requirements Define and follow up strategies to accomplish operation KPI´s. Direct decision making to guarantee the integrity of personnel in evacuation processes of the plant. REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE and KNOWLEDGE University degree in Engineering, Operations or Business – or equivalent experience required. Advanced degree or equivalent experience preferred. Fluid English. Financial basics and accounting reports. REQUIRED SKILLS and ABILITIES Must have the ability to work with production employees, mid-level management, the plant manager, and senior management. Requires the ability to quickly diagnose production problems and develop plans to adjust to maintain efficient operation of the plant. Capable to define and lead working teams from different functional areas. Ability to lead and work together with his peers from cross-functional areas. Delegate responsibilities as needed and maintain control of the operations organization. Requires functional proficiency with Microsoft Office programs. Conflict resolution ability.
