SUMMARY The Project Analyst Intern assists the Chickasaw Nation Industries Corporate Finance Department with a variety of government contracting processes. This is an internship with flexible working hours and is designed to provide well rounded exposure to government and commercial contracting in an environment of support and mentoring. The Project Analyst Intern must be actively pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree program and should be detail-oriented with the ability to utilize a general knowledge of business principles and proficiency working with Excel spreadsheets. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Performs assigned tasks such as conducting data entry, assisting with reconciliations, proofing spreadsheets and reports. Under the guidance of the Senior Financial Analyst and/or general accounting staff members, learns to comprehend and apply CNI Business practices into daily functions. Compiles and inputs data from multiple sources into company software platforms. Gathers and organizes data for analysis. Develops an understanding and application of the company’s business practices. Completes special projects as needed and other duties as assigned. Responsible for aiding in own self-development by being available and receptive to all training made available by the company. Plans daily activities within the guidelines of company policy, job description and supervisor’s instruction in such a way as to maximize personal output. Responsible for keeping own immediate work area in a neat and orderly condition to ensure safety of self and co-workers. Will report any unsafe conditions and/or practices to the appropriate supervisor and human resources. Will immediately correct any unsafe conditions as the best of own ability. EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE Must be enrolled or accepted for enrollment in a relevant college degree program at the time the internship will be served - either at the graduate (Master's level) or upper undergraduate level (Senior level). Enrollment in a related field such as Business Administration, Accounting or Finance, or Information Systems is preferred but not required. Background check may be conducted. Must have an acceptable GPA. CERTIFICATES / LICENSES / REGISTRATION CNI does not offer visa sponsorship. JOB SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / ABILITIES Basic knowledge and understanding of data analytics. Excellent computer skills with proficiency using Microsoft Office applications suite. Higher proficiency with Excel preferred. Excellent organization skills with ability to handle multiple projects and priorities. Excellent verbal and written communications skills. Excellent note taking and transcription skills. Ability to effectively ask questions and approach problems with an analytical mindset. Ability to employ a customer service approach. Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information. Ability to be dependable and to meet schedules / timelines. Ability to effectively work both independently and in a team environment. LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. REASONING ABILITY Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
