JOB DESCRIPTION
Title: Team Leader Quality
Reports to: Quality Supervisor
Department: Quality Department (TMA)
FLSA: Hourly Non-exempt
Work Schedule: 3rd Shift
Summary of Position:
Coordinate Quality department activities within the facility with direction from the Quality Supervisor. Assists in setting up standards of performance, measures progress, sets up and controls work flow and determine personnel needs based on Quality demands and with the assistance of the Quality Supervisor.
Duties and Responsibilities (but not limited to):
- Overseeing Team Members, reporting directly to Supervisor any concerns or questions.
- Approves in-process production by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; communicating required adjustments to Quality/ Production Supervisor.
- Document EOL (End of Line) inspection results by completing reports and logs, summarizing re-work and nonconforming parts.
- Maintains safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures.
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities
- Accomplishes Quality and Organization mission by completing related results as needed.
- Comprehension with First Row, Second Row and Third Row; Awareness of Receiving Inspection Work Standard.
- Assist with coordinating Quality activities within the facility to ensure the total manufacturing objectives are accomplished.
- Review Quality or processing issues with the Quality Supervisor as needed.
- Work with Quality Supervisor in setting and monitoring product standards, examining samples of raw products or directing testing during processing, to ensure finished products are of prescribed quality.
- Assist in Quality tracking and quality control systems, analyzing Quality, quality control, maintenance, and other operational reports, to detect Quality problems.
- Maintain environmental, health and safety programs.
- Observe work and other indicators to ensure that operators conform to Quality or processing standards.
- Provides direction, development, training and leadership to floor associates.
- Monitor assembly operations and able to recognize defective parts
- Perform layered audit and quality checks.
- Ensure 5-S is adhered to properly.
- Track parts and scrap.
- Follow processes and procedures associated with the assembly area.
- Work with processes and procedures associated with the assembly area.
- Write Quality reports if needed.
- Performs any variety of operations within the group to maintain flow of work.
Qualifications:
- Must have at least 6 months experience working in an automotive manufacturing environment related to seating.
Education:
- High School diploma
Technical Skills Required:
- Quality skills and knowledge within the seating industry.
- Ability to use Calipers, Steel Rulers, Torque Wrenches, etc.
- Leadership skills and experience.
- Broad knowledge of OSHA and workplace health and safety programs
- Broad knowledge of quality systems including TS-16949, ISO and QS; continuous improvement, Kaizen, 5-S, lean manufacturing, KANBAN, TPS.
- Must be able to spot visual defects and assist in making quality decisions.
