Summary/Objective: Associate is responsible for delivering time-sensitive material to customer job sites. Responsible for building loads for deliveries and maintaining a safe, clean, and well-organized lumber yard; loading and unloading of lumber and/or building supplies and operating a forklift. Must have a valid state-issued driver’s license and safe driving record.
Essential Functions:
Maintains lumber yard including keeping material well organized and safe
Be able to periodically lift up to 80 pounds
Build loads for delivery
Must be at least 21 years old
Valid license/satisfactory MVR record as defined by 84 standards
Can read and speak the English language sufficiently to converse with the general public, to understand highway traffic signs and signals in the English language, to respond to official inquiries, and to make entries on reports and records
Deliver material to customer job sites
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos; write simple correspondence; effectively present information to others one-on-one
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions; deal with problems involving a few concrete variables and standardized situations
Respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions; interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables
Supervisory Responsibility: This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment: This position requires driving for long periods of time in a truck as well as working in the lumber yard. Truck Drivers work near moving mechanical parts and in highly precarious places. This position can involve working outdoors or being exposed to wet, humid, extremely hot, or extremely cold conditions. This position can be exposed to vibrations, airborne particles or toxic chemicals. There may be a risk of electrical shock.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: This is a full-time position. Hours of work depends on hours of operations, willing to work 40 hours per week.
Required Education and Experience:
High School diploma or general education degree (GED)
3 months related work experience and/or training a plus
Grooming/Uniform:
It is an expectation the associate in this role is neatly groomed with good hygiene
A uniform is required, which includes an 84 Lumber shirt, pants, boots, and any other PPE’s as requested

Schedule: Typically falls between 5am-5pm, Monday-Friday. You will work a minimum of 40 hours. However, hours may vary depending on location/store.
