Job Description: The Product Quality Engineer proactively improves internal product quality. This role will help the functions and manufacturing site exceed our customer expectations by designing and deploying processes to mitigate internal product risk. Assist in executing internal Quality Notifications (QNs) and Corrective and Preventative Actions (CAPA). Participate in the site internal audits to identify and address improvement opportunities. Perform root cause analysis utilizing 5 Why, 8D, CAPA, and Fault Tree Analysis (FTA). Drive continuous improvement through communication and training on quality standards, requirements, and best practices. Drive change through identification of data-based opportunities and working with other functions to execute. Maintain the appropriate documents and files to align with the site Quality Management System (QMS) and ISO 9001 standards. Execute sampling procedures and records inspection results. Utilize quality tools (process mapping, Failure modes Effects Analysis (FMEA), control plans) to drive quality into processes. Trend, measure and record data to complete various quality metrics. Complete detailed documentation and reports of all inspection activities in accordance with Company policy and customer specified requirements. Supervise Quality Assurance staff. May direct technical and administrative workers engaged in quality activities. Other duties as assigned by the Quality Business Unit Leader. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Quality Assurance, Engineering or Chemistry. Strong analytical, statistical, and problem-solving skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Able to work efficiently in a team environment. Able to travel (< 10% of total time). Able to work in a manufacturing and laboratory environment. Six Sigma Green Belt certification preferred. ASQ Certified Quality Engineer, or similar certification preferred. Experience in Quality Engineering position preferred. Experience in an automotive quality assurance environment is preferred. Experience in automotive coatings formulation and/or application is preferred.
