Serves as a key member of the surgical team in room preparation, room turnover and the facilitation of the daily surgery schedule. Demonstrates knowledge of anatomy and physiology relating to surgical procedures Displays ability to relate knowledge to assist the surgeon. Responsible for maintaing a visible, working surgical field. Under surgeon direction, ties cuts and sutures tissue, harvests veins and arteries Positions patient on the OR table to maintain proper body alignment Assists in providing patients with a safe and supportive environment Responsible for complete case preparation Demonstrates and promotes teamwork Required Minimum Education: Vocational/ Technical Degree Preferred Education: 2 year/ Associates Degree Required: Certified Surgical Assistant through NSAA; BLS through AHA Mercy Health is an equal opportunity employer.
