Hospital Claims Billing Specialist

We are looking for a Hospital Claims Billing Specialist to join our growing team! This position will be responsible for submitting and auditing patient claims, and communicate with patients, medical professionals and insurance companies to help process payments and troubleshoot discrepancies. This position is remote Essential Functions: Utilize patient accounting software to prepare, review and transmit inpatient Medicare, commercial and Medicaid claims. Follow up on unpaid claims within standard billing cycles. Check insurance payments for accuracy and contract compliance. Call insurance companies regarding payment discrepancies. Identify and bill secondary or tertiary insurances. Research and appeal denied claims. Respond to patient or insurance inquiries. Follow-up on self-pay balances. Setting up patient payment plans. Maintain awareness of changes in payer billing requirements Education and Experience: 2 years inpatient billing / collections experience required. 2 years in Medicare billing experience preferred. Familiarity with Optum Revenue Cycle software preferred. Knowledge of insurance billing requirements is required. In-Patient Rehabilitation Hospital experience preferred. Physical Requirements over the course of a shift: A significant amount of sitting for prolonged periods of time Lifting/exerting of up to 10 lbs Sufficient manual dexterity to operate equipment and computer keyboard Close vision and the ability to adjust focus ClearSky is proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
