Summary
The role of the Plant Manager is to organize and watch over the daily operations of a manufacturing plant. It’s the Plant Manager’s responsibility to oversee efficiency and production, the employees, and to ensure the plant consistently runs efficiently, quickly, safely, and smoothly. The Plant manager will assign workers, create work schedules, develop production schedules, and hire and train new staff to maintain optimal operation.
The goal is to ensure that our products are made of flawless materials with well-functioning equipment. That way our customers will enjoy high-quality merchandise so that we can achieve long-term success.

- Will collect and analyze new data to determine where waste could be occurring or where improvement could occur.
- Monitors plant and worker safety, monitors production equipment to ensure it remains in optimal working order and repairs or replaces equipment as it becomes necessary.
- Ensures quality control is in place and any product that leaves the plant has gone through the appropriate checks.
- Use leadership skills to motivate employees at all levels
- Use problem-solving skills to assess situations and devise quick solutions to production issues.
- Use time management skills to accomplish tight production deadlines, shipping dates and other time constraints.
- Use automated systems to perform complex testing procedures
- Maintain records of testing, information and various metrics such as number of defective products per day etc.
- Inspect procedures of the entire production cycle to ensure they are efficient and comply with safety standards
- Responsible for overseeing the completion of production policies and procedures. Assessing SOP’s for accuracy and areas for improvement
- Works in cooperation with other department members to ensure documentation and testing is in accordance with policies and procedures.
- Ensures all checklists and required documentation is completed and turned in by his direct reports
- Provides guidance and performance management for direct and indirect reports
- Prepare and submit reports in a timely manner to the COO noting any problems
Skills and Abilities
- Proven experience as a plant manager or related role
- A keen eye for detail and a results-driven approach
- Responsible and trustworthy
- Familiarity with ERP systems used in manufacturing settings
- Thorough knowledge of manufacturing and quality control standards and testing methodologies
- Working knowledge of MS Office
Work EnvironmentThis job operates in a professional environment on the production floor. This role uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. In addition, to standard office equipment, this role may use gages, measurement tools, etc.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $90,000.00 - $115,000.00 per year
