                                 Sr. Automation Engineer - SME

             long-term contract; Eagan, MN or Raleigh, NC (remote)

SUMMARY:

• Tier One Technologies is seeking a Sr. Automation Engineer to provide automation development support in the form of developing automation capabilities to ensure functionality and usability is aligned with the organization’s priorities, enabling delivery teams to do their work effectively.
• This is going to be a remote position, but the candidate initially MUST be willing to report in person to Eagan, MN or Raleigh, NC offices to pick up equipment and ensure that all access is available.
• SELECTED CANDIDATES WITHOUT REQUIRED CLEARANCE WILL BE SUBJECT TO A FEDERAL GOVERNMENT BACKGROUND INVESTIGATION TO RECEIVE IT.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

• Provide SME level infrastructure management and automation support.
• Maintain smooth operation of multi-user computer systems, including coordination with system engineers, project managers, end users, and customer and IT management.
• Recommend and implement system enhancements that will improve the performance and reliability of the system including installing, upgrading/patching, monitoring, problem resolution, and configuration management.
• Test new releases of products to ensure compatibility and minimize user impact.
• Develop, maintain, document, and automate technical processes and procedures as needed.
• Adhere to strict Information Systems security guidelines in all cases.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 6 years of experience. Additional experience may be substituted for a degree.
• 3 years of experience with automation and scripting tools.
• 1 year experience working with Ansible.
• Solid understanding of modern operating systems and supporting technologies sufficient to automate associated processes – Windows / SLES / RHEL.
• Strong experience of automation/orchestration using the following tools - Ansible, Ansible Tower, AWX, YAML, and Puppet or equivalent.
• Experience with different languages to include Python, Perl, Ruby, PowerShell or equivalent.
• Familiarity with containers to include Kubernetes and/or Docker.
• Ability to automate solutions to repetitive problems/tasks.
• Ability to troubleshoot equipment problems and perform complex system tests.
• Develop and maintain accurate documentation for internal procedures and services.
• Ability to use a wide variety of open-source technologies and cloud services.
• Integration of Git, in continuous deployment.
• Detail-oriented personality.
• Ability to communicate well with other members of the development team.
• Must be able to obtain a Position of Public Trust Clearance
• Must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident (Green Card Holder) and not have traveled outside the US for a combined total of 6 months or more in last 5 years.
• Must have resided in the US for the last 5 years.
