Sr. Scrum Master

Overview

• Tier One Technologies is looking for a Sr. Scrum Master for our US Government client located in Washington, DC. This on-site position will require occasional travel.
• Scrum Certification (CSM) is required.
• US Citizenship is required.
• SELECTED CANDIDATES WITHOUT REQUIRED CLEARANCE WILL BE SUBJECT TO A FEDERAL GOVERNMENT BACKGROUND INVESTIGATION TO RECEIVE IT.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for all aspects of the development and implementation of assigned projects and provides a single point of contact for those projects.
• Take projects from original concept through final implementation. Interfaces with all areas affected by the project including end users, computer services, and client services.
• Define project scope and objectives. Develop detailed work plans, schedules, project estimates, resource plans, and status reports.
• Conduct project meetings and is responsible for project tracking and analysis.
• Ensure adherence to quality standards and reviews project deliverables.
• Manage the integration of vendor tasks and tracks and reviews vendor deliverables.
• Provide technical and analytical guidance to the project team.
• Recommend and takes action to direct the analysis and solutions of problems.
• Perform all functional duties independently. Work on high-visibility programs, or mission critical aspects of assigned program(s).
• Oversee the efforts of direct reporting resources and/or is responsible for the efforts of all staff assigned to a specific job.
• Responsible for managing the entire Scrum process.
• Responsible for conducting all Scrum Ceremonies.
• Responsible for managing Scrum artifacts and Scrum Tool.
• Take projects from assignment to implementation.
• Support management team’s efforts in change management.
• Recommend and takes action to improve processes.
• Report high level status of your most important projects on the weekly PCES huddle.
• Proactively escalate foreseeable problems and resolve and/or escalate impediments/roadblocks immediately.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited College/University in Software Engineering, Computer Science is preferred.
• 10 years of experience in project management or related field, preferably in the area of software application development and/or related field.
• 5-7 years of experience, in technology or software development preferred.
• Scrum Certification (CSM) is required.
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.
• Ability to perform all functional duties independently on high-visibility programs, or mission critical aspects of a given program.
• Ability to oversee the efforts of direct reporting resources and/or be responsible for the efforts of all staff assigned to a specific job.
• Experience training/mentoring less experienced personnel.
• Broad knowledge of Project Management disciplines as outlined in the Project Management Body of Knowledge.
• Extensive experience with managing software application development projects of various sizes, including client interaction and meeting facilitation.
• Extensive experience defining project scope, developing work plans and project schedules, preparing project estimates, developing resource plans, and compiling project status reports.
• Extensive experience managing heterogeneous project teams composed of resources from multiple vendors/organizations.
• Extensive experience reviewing software documentation such as requirements specifications, design documents, manuals, test plans/cases, test scripts and test report.
• Ability to travel.
• Successfully demonstrate and utilize the following skills: communication, leadership, organization, time management, budget management, risk management, problem-solving, adaptability, and teamwork.
• Must be eligible to obtain a sensitive clearance – Position of Public Trust.
• All candidates must be a US Citizen.
• Candidate must have lived in the United States for the past 5 years.
• Cannot have more than 6 months travel outside the United States within the last 5 years. Military Service excluded.
