Overview
The GP&C Manager, People Operations is responsible for the overall design, implementation, management, communication, compliance and administration of A-dec’s employee health and well-being programs, policies and practices, Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) and Payroll. This position researches and implements best practices to ensure A-decs' health and well-being, HRIS and Payroll philosophies and practices align to competitive market trends and are in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
Responsibilities
- Lead the following people operational functions: Employee Health and Well-being programs management, administration and activities, Worker’s Compensation claims administration and management, Human Resources Information Systems administration, record keeping and oversight (HRIS, LMS, ATS, etc.) and Payroll.
- Partner with health and well-being brokers and partners to develop and administer health & well-being benefit programs in support of overall employee attraction and retention strategies. Identify vendor relationships to support overall employee health and well-being.
- Oversee and supervise the organization’s payroll functions, ensuring pay is processed on time, accurately, and in compliance with government regulations.
- Identify and recommends updates to payroll processing software, systems, and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements for areas of responsibility and stay abreast of current and impending changes to legal and regulatory environments.
- Lead system and process optimization; maintain all people technology tools and identify opportunities to increase data flow, automation, and efficiency to allow smarter people discussions, decisions and business planning.
- Create and maintain employee policies within functional areas with an innovative approach to balance employee experience with legal requirements. Maintain relationships with in-house and outside counsel to stay ahead of changes to legal compliance laws.
- Create and maintain a people operations analytics dashboard as well as reporting to key stakeholders on a monthly basis. Prepare reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends.
- Manage HRIS tactical planning, business process re-engineering, optimization, and system strategy for maximum functionality. Develop, monitor, maintain, and continuously improve processes, system inefficiencies and metrics reporting for GP&C.
- Lead, develop, drive and oversee the planning and testing of key activities for system upgrades and changes: data integrity, implementation of system upgrades, interface with other systems and external vendors.
- Develop and maintain awareness of GP&C data security and align with corporate policies and procedures.
- Consult with and support GP&C peers, A-dec leaders and employees in areas of responsibility. Serve as a resource on federal and state employment, benefits, and worker’s compensation law. Analyze and report on trends related to insurance and worker’s compensation claims and other GP&C-related metrics.
- Supervise the activity of team members and mentor their growth and development.
- Maintain positive relationships and communication with employees and A-dec leadership to promote a mutually respectful and cooperative work environment consistent with A-dec’s vision and mission.
- Support GP&C mission, goals and objectives and larger GP&C initiatives by ensuring continuity and successful delivery of functional service.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or equivalent combination of education and work experience, with a minimum of 10 years relevant progressive experience in various GP&C and/or operational functions, including supervisory responsibility.
- Experience with HRIS functionality required, experience with UKG Pro and Workday preferred.
- Must be results oriented with a strong customer service orientation and the ability to operate at all levels of an organization.
- Demonstrated ability to resolve complex problems impacting people, processes, and program issues, along with excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
- Must be able to operate independently where appropriate, but understand when to escalate issues. Must also be a strong team player.
