SUMMARY
The Senior Director is a pivotal role in the strategic leadership and operational management of our logistics functions. Reporting directly to the VP/General Manager, this role acts on behalf of the VP/General Manager in their absence. The position is responsible for supporting the oversight of day-to-day business operations, driving efficiency, optimizing processes, ensuring seamless handling of customer goods and property throughout the supply chain and meeting business objectives. This position requires a highly talented professional with proven leadership skills, a strategic mindset, and a deep understanding of supply chain logistics operations.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of department/division personnel and activities. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

SPECIAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
A college degree (4 years) or equivalent in transportation, logistics, business administration, economics, or related degree with a minimum of 10-15 years of hands-on experience in transportation, logistics, warehousing or related fields or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A minimum of 5-7 years of supervisory/managerial position and 3-5 of which are in a senior management level with proven successful results. Must have strong established relationships with origin, destination, and transportation service providers in primary locations throughout the US.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret graphs. Ability to calculate volumetric weight (changeable weight) and know when to use volumetric weight and not actual scale weight.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
