Our esteemed client who is a leading commercial pharmaceutical company in Parsippany, NJ, is seeking a skilled Senior Accountant with a strong background in month-end close, general ledger, and journal entries, to join their growing team. As a Senior Accountant, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data while contributing to the organization's success.
Key Responsibilities:
•Perform month-end closing activities with exceptional precision and attention to detail. Prepare and post journal entries to accurately record financial transactions and ensure compliance with GAAP principles.
•Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness. Reconcile bank accounts to safeguard against discrepancies and identify any potential issues.
•Internal Audits: Collaborate with the audit team to support internal audit activities, ensuring compliance with established procedures and identifying areas for process improvements.
•Leverage your proficiency in SAP and Excel to streamline financial processes, data analysis, and reporting. Proficiency in other related systems, such as Oracle, will be considered a valuable asset.
•Pharma & Government Reporting (Preferred): While not required, experience in pharmaceutical industry accounting and familiarity with government reporting specific to pharma will be highly advantageous. You'll have the chance to make an impact by applying your specialized knowledge in this domain.
Qualifications:
•Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
•CPA or equivalent certification will be a plus.
•Proven experience in month-end closing, journal entries, and general ledger.
•Strong analytical skills and the ability to reconcile financial data accurately.
•Experience with SAP and Excel, with the capability to handle complex financial models and large datasets.
•Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
•Detail-oriented and able to maintain a high level of accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
•Familiarity with pharmaceutical industry accounting and government reporting (preferred but not required).
