The Hand Polisher is responsible for finishing, polishing, and buffing metal parts to achieve the required surface finish, ensuring high-quality standards.
The role requires attention to detail, manual dexterity, and a commitment to producing precise and aesthetically pleasing products.
Key Responsibilities :
- Polish and buff metal parts using hand tools and power tools to remove scratches, burrs, and other imperfections.
- Achieve desired surface finishes, including mirror, satin, or brushed finishes, as specified by project requirements.
- Inspect parts for defects and inconsistencies before and after polishing.
- Ensure all polished parts meet quality standards and specifications.
- Report any defects or deviations to the supervisor.
- Maintain and care for polishing tools, including abrasives, polishing compounds, and buffers.
- Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves, masks, and eye protection.
- Comply with company policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Keep accurate records of work performed, including part numbers, quantities, and time spent on each task as required.
- Complete production and quality control reports as required.
- Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and other departments to ensure smooth workflow.
- Collaborate with other production staff to meet production goals and deadlines.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous experience in metal polishing, finishing, or a related field is required.
- Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Knowledge of various polishing techniques and materials.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to stand for long periods and perform repetitive tasks.
- Good hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills.
- Ability to lift and move objects up to fifty (50) pounds.
