Summary:

The position is responsible for overseeing and developing the program including hiring, supervision, evaluation and scheduling. The position will ensure clinical training to appropriate staff. Must have the ability to think globally, solve problems and have good decision-making skills, including critical thinking skills.

Position Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Experience with opening and overseeing residential homes
  • Experience in understanding the dynamics of growth and development as it pertains to clients in therapeutic relationships.
  • Five years of assistant director level experience and staff supervision, including expertise transforming clinical staff into a highly functional team.
  • Proven experience, understanding and demonstrated ability to generate revenues for clinical services.
  • Experience and confidence identifying and implementing evidence-based practices. Experience working in crisis setting with individuals and families.
  • Program development, evaluation, solid organizational skills, and public speaking are essential.
  • Commitment to maintain confidentiality.
  • Skilled with MS Word, Excel, Outlook and customized databases.
  • Strong creativity, flexibility, and ability to organize and perform multiple tasks within the same time frame.
  • Presentation skills along with professional behaviors, attitude and appearance.
  • Strong computer skills including the ability to translate data and information.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills including doing presentations or media events.
  • Self-directed, flexible with strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Support the organization's mission along with sensitivity of cultural and workplace harmony.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Include but are not limited to:

  • Serves on the Leadership Team and provides strategic leadership to multiple services.
  • Supervises and directs all aspects of the behavioral health division following the agency mission demonstrated by setting division goals and objectives. Evaluate existing contract compliance, monitoring and reporting to ensure all goals are being met.
  • Oversees decisions and performance of services and senior program managers and program managers.
  • Project, develop, and monitor revenue and expense budget for fee for service and grant funded programs.
  • Develop, plan and implement strategies to manage program growth and ensure self-funding and sustainability of the program. Regularly review and recommend changes in program services to meet client needs, oversight of program evaluation and quality assurance functions for department including assessment of applicable legal and professional requirements and monitoring treatment plans for clients.
  • Ensure contract compliance for division and volunteer personnel within the department. Initiate, implement and monitor compliance with evidence-based practices including all required audits.
  • Work with other members of the management team to assure successful communication and coordination between all programs and participate in strategic planning.
  • Formulates, recommends, and implements program proposals, policies, and procedures in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, and licensure requirements.
  • Spokesperson and program liaison with the regulatory and licensing bodies, the community, clientele, and other applicable agencies/organization.
  • Active representation on pertinent local and state trade associations and provider workgroups.
  • Pursues new services, grant funding and/or licenses as appropriate to service and agency goals.
  • Ensures adequate psychiatric staff to meet all regulatory requirements
  • Supervises and consults with contract Psychiatrists and related medical professionals regarding the care and treatment of clients.
  • With input from managers, continually develops and implements plans to improve staff and service quality.
  • Responsible for the recruitment, supervision, evaluation, promotion, corrective action of employees within the division.
  • Develops and maintains positive external relationships with other agency professionals.
  • Attendance at all meetings, supervisions and trainings as required.
  • Coordinate responsibilities of House Coordinators.
  • Complete attendance and payroll records for House Coordinators.
  • Assure budgetary compliance and fiscal accountability for all residential programs.
  • Responsible for the coordination or completion of assessments.
  • Responsible for providing the assessment for the development of the Individual Support Plan (ISP), ISP Annual update, and ISP revisions as required under CH. 6400.181(f).
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities by the Program Operations Director.
  • Responsible for supervision of Direct Support Staff Lead and Direct Support Staff working at assigned residential programs with documented bi-weekly 1:1 supervision.
  • Ensures Direct Support Staff Lead and Direct Support Staff working at assigned residential programs follow the principles of Normalization, Positive Approaches and the principles elaborated on in Everyday Lives.
  • Meets with employees, formally and informally.
  • Under the direction of the Director of Developmental Disability Services (Residential), follows through with disciplinary actions as needed.
  • Plans the agenda, facilitates and documents staff meetings.
  • Ensures relevant information is communicated to employees.
  • HCSIS proficient

Scheduling/On Call:

  • Develops and monitors employee work schedule for assigned residential homes.
  • Participates in review of all residential schedules to ensure adequate site coverage and maximum service delivery.
  • Reviews and approves all schedule changes and timesheet submissions for assigned residential homes.
  • On call 24/7

Education and experience

  • A Master's degree in a human services field with a minimum of 5 – 7 years progressively. responsible and documented extensive experiences in clinical processes, case management skills, crisis intervention, etc.
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Licensure is preferred.'
