A K Ingenuity (AKI) provides a continuum of supported housing solutions for youth ages 13-18 with complex trauma and behavioral health conditions across four sites in Vancouver, WA. Job Summary: Case Managers, work within a small residential setting, to facilitate a wraparound approach supportive of the psychological, social, and emotional well-being of adolescents in the child welfare system. Our target population are biological females, transgender, and non-binary youth ages 13-18.

AKI’s Case Manager utilizes a relational health model and a trauma informed approach to facilitate the provision of client centered care and services for youth; engage in data driven ongoing assessments of progress; coordinate care and wraparound support, and develop/disperse regular and timely reports regarding service and permanency planning.

Program Details:
Within our residential programs, youth have access to education, case management, medical and mental health services onsite and within the community. They attend public school, engage in community activities, and participate in independent living skill development.

Case Manager Key Areas of Responsibility:

· Work collaboratively with each client to develop a unique treatment plan based on the individual’s goals; monitor and review client progress; and support skill building supportive of social and emotional health conducive to family reunification, a long term placement, and/or independence.

· Coordinate with and ensure the inclusion of individuals, family members, attorneys, case workers and other natural supports to develop service plans and make key decisions regarding placement.

· Provide or arrange clinical therapy to residents on a weekly basis.

· Coordinate mental health, drug/alcohol, medical or other treatment as described in the service plan.

· Review and participate in the development of the youth’s Individual Education Plan (IEP) in coordination with the child/family team. This includes advocating with the local school district to ensure that youth receive appropriate educational services.

· Lead a variety of psycho-educational groups.

· Provide clinical supervision and guidance to direct care staff.

· Ensure that services provided are documented in the individual client file.

· Provide direct care coverage as needed.

Ideal candidates will be supportive, flexible, culturally sensitive, trauma informed, with experience in mental health and social services systems. They communicate effectively with both adolescents in the program and other team members. Leadership skills, strong work ethic, and experience, are crucial qualities for this position.

Must be comfortable working in a regulated environment; and work within the parameters of program licensing guidelines. Must have the ability to react promptly, empathetically, and appropriately to the potential challenges involved working in a residential facility.

Education and Work Experience:

Case Manager Minimum Qualifications:

· At least 21 years of age

· Bachelor or Master’s degree in social work or an equivalent degree in education, psychology, sociology, or other relevant behavioral science degree.

· 3 years of successful full-time experience in a relevant field working with youth

· Relevant experience, training and demonstrated skills in each area that the candidate will be managing or supervising

· Has the skills and ability to work successfully with the special needs of children in care

· Has effective communication and problem-solving skills

Additional requirements:

· Strong organizational, time management skills, oral and written communication skills.

· Ability to work effectively with young people, manage challenging behavior, intervene appropriately in crisis to maintain safety, and de-escalate potential crisis situations.

· Ability to exercise tact, discretion, and judgment in working with a variety of people.

· Ability to work effectively within a team environment.

· Ability to maintain appropriate professional boundaries in working with others and in handling confidential information.

· Ability to make independent decisions using analytical skills and good judgment

· Ability to work full time, on site.

Other Requirements:

  • Must pass DHS criminal background check
  • Must meet agency’s driving requirement
  • Pre-service Mandatory training, Food Handlers card, CPR/Fist Aid card, and annual TB testing are required.

Schedule: 40 hours weekly, depending on programming needs, on call-supervision and relief duties.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
