Job Title: UI/UX Analyst
Location: Lansing, MI (3 days a week Hybrid)
Rate: 50-55/hr on w2 (No third party or C2C candidates will be considered for this role)
Job Description: We are seeking a skilled UI/UX Analyst to join our team in Lansing, MI. The UI/UX Analyst will play a pivotal role in defining the visual aesthetics, usability, and interaction design of our applications. Working closely with business analysts, solution architects, technical leads, and developers, you will ensure that our IT solutions not only meet but exceed user expectations and business requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including business analysts, solution architects, tech leads, developers, and QA to deeply understand project requirements, functionality, scalability, and usability.
- Partner with Business Analysts to assess existing business processes and systems, translating them into comprehensive interface designs that enhance usability and efficiency.
- Participate in requirement gathering sessions, Joint Application Modeling (JAM) sessions, and brainstorming meetings with stakeholders to identify usability concerns and preferences.
- Analyze user flows, pain points, and user desires from both usability and visual perspectives, proposing effective solutions.
- Lead the visual design and usability strategy for products, guiding the team through design patterns, screen layouts, and usability testing.
- Advocate for end users throughout the design process, striving to continually improve product design and usability within project constraints.
- Develop sketches, wireframes, and mockups of user interface screens aligned with project requirements.
- Collaborate with Business Analysts and Technical Leads to validate wireframes against business and technical requirements before presenting solutions to stakeholders.
- Provide development teams with resources including checklists and toolsets to implement UI/UX best practices, adhere to coding standards, and address ADA compliance.
- Ensure adherence to 508 and Site Standards in all design deliverables.
- Conduct usability testing to validate designs against UI/UX best practices and user expectations.
- Perform accessibility testing to ensure compliance with ADA requirements, providing guidance on vulnerability remediation.
- Conduct and facilitate usability tests with end users, iterating on screen designs based on feedback.
- Advise developers on accessibility requirements and assist in vulnerability remediation efforts.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a UI/UX Analyst, UI/UX Designer, or similar role.
- Proficiency in design and prototyping tools such as Adobe XD, Sketch, Figma, etc.
- Strong understanding of UI/UX best practices, design principles, and accessibility standards.
- Experience working in Agile environments and familiarity with Agile methodologies.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively present and defend design decisions.
- Knowledge of Site Standards and Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) requirements preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in Design, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field; or equivalent practical experience.
