What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mentor position at A-Line?
Job Summary:
The Mentor is a transitional role into leadership. The mentor is a working employee that assists in providing guidance, feedback, and support to team members.
Responsibilities:
- Performs necessary work in the plant under the direction of the team leaders and the plant managers.
- Encourages and motivates employees on the team during challenging work environments.
- Works closely with the team lead to support completing projects and goals.
- Provides oversight and training to new hires to develop and improve their skills.
- Completes all necessary cross-training and leadership training to develop leadership skills for future opportunities.
- Keeps team members informed about rules, regulations, policies, and objectives.
- Collaborates with the team to identify ways to improve department effectiveness.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- The ability to cross train in all areas of the plant.
- The ability to learn and develop leadership skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to motivate team to accomplish objectives.
- Thorough understanding of plant procedures and regulations.
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
- At least two years of related work experience required.
Working Conditions:
- Must be able to work some Saturdays and overtime when needed.
- Must be able to work inside and/or outside and be exposed to all weather elements, including extreme heat, wind, rain, snow, and freezing temperatures.
- Must be able to work in conditions that are exposed to loud noise, heavy vibration, dust, exhaust fumes, and around hazardous and/or non-hazardous materials.
