What are the responsibilities and job description for the HR Intern position at A.O. Smith?

The incumbent will have an opportunity to work within a relevant field related to their major in order to gain work experience. Usually the candidate for this role will be a college student who is interested in learning about our business and expanding their knowledge in work processes, analysis and support functions.
- Updating company databases by inputting new employee contact information and employment details.
- Screening potential employees' resumes and application forms to identify suitable candidates to fill company job vacancies.
- Organizing interviews with shortlisted candidates.
- Creating job requisitions/descriptions.
- Closing job requisitions once vacancies have been filled.
- Assisting the HR staff in administrative duties.
- Assisting in the planning of company events or training sessions.
- Coordinating new hire orientations.
- Responding to staff inquiries regarding HR policies, employee benefits, and other HR-related matters.
- College junior or senior with a planned major in human resource management.
- Proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications.
- The ability to work as part of a team and independently.
