Role:
APV is seeking a Vice President of Growth to oversee the growth of the company. Responsibilities include ensuring growth by leveraging APV’s capabilities, contracts, customer relationships, teaming partners, and emerging technologies. Take full responsibility for business development, marketing, proposals, and capture by building a pipeline to execute corporate goals both strategic and tactical. Will collaborate with other executive and management teams to focus on the growth of APV’s core capabilities of Enterprise Information Technology, Human Capital Management, and Training. This position will report to APV’s President and be based at APV’s Headquarters in Columbia, MD.

Duties:
- Responsible for overseeing the Business Development, Capture, and Proposal team to ensure the highest probability of winning contracts and task orders.
- Hire, retain, and manage all the related personnel.
- Collaborate closely with operational managers to lead adjacent and organic growth.
- Assures the highest quality of submission of proposals both technical and price.
- Work closely with other departments – contracts, finance, program operations, HR, Talent Acquisition
- Network with external corporate leaders to build long-lasting relationships.
- Collaborates and builds mutual trust amongst prospective team members and customers.
- Participates in weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual leadership meetings.
- Ensures compliance with government policies and internal quality standards such as ISO and CMMI.
- Participates in special projects as required.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related business or technical discipline. Degree in Computer Science or Engineering preferred. A master’s degree is a plus.
- 15 years of GovCon industry experience with an emphasis on corporate growth activities with a proven record.
- Knowledge of FAR, DFAR, and Federal Procurement Processes
- Experience managing growth teams.
- Pleasant personality to ensure team performance under strict timelines.
- Expert verbal communication and writing skills to ensure winning proposal deliverables submitted within contractual performance standards.
- Strong proficiencies with Microsoft Windows-based tools including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Project, and Adobe Acrobat.
- Expert deal strategy and negotiation skills.
- Superior business etiquette.
- Must be detail-oriented and able to function effectively in a fast-paced, multitasking work environment.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment with a “roll up your sleeves” attitude.
- Demonstrated analytical and creative problem-solving capabilities.
- Demonstrated sound judgment, integrity, and leadership skills.
- Demonstrated ability to interact with both internal and external stakeholders at the highest levels (i.e., senior executives and procurement officials).
- Ability to mentor and coach staff members
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification desired.
- Experience and a general understanding of IT, Human Capital, and Training.
- Familiarity with ML/AI, RPA, and other emerging technologies is preferred but not required.
- Knowledge of product and service providers such as Salesforce, Appian, Big Data, and AR/VR preferred but not required.
- Proven track record of leading winning proposals.
