Duties and Responsibilities:
Must perform essential components of processing billing with timesheet information from multiple staff. Must be able to communicate effectively with staff. Assure consumer and family confidentiality as defined in the state and the federal laws in regards to HIPPA. The employee must stay abreast of the following: claims data forms, denials, what is billable hours and what is not. Employee must be aware of policies, as needed to maintain the regulations of the Division of Mental Health and the state guidelines in regards to Medicaid, and other insurances that are billed. Employee must have knowledge of fundamental principles, techniques and methods for providing customer service; this includes/directing incoming calls.The employee must directly complete the following duties:
- Monitor authorizations
- Identify gaps in authorizations
- Insure accuracy of work completed
- Other tasks as deemed necessary
- Alert supervisor of any problems with billing on a case by case basis.'
