Description
Kitchen Assistant: This position serves as general kitchen support on a short term basis of 2 weeks or more. Skillset includes: enjoying time in the kitchen supporting food and fellowship; willingness to take direction and learn new things. Previous kitchen experience is a plus, but is not required. This can be an entry or mid level hourly paid position open to anyone 18 years of age or older. Food Safety Certification course provided.
Kitchen Staff: This position serves in the kitchen all summer as a line cook, working under the direction of the Head Cook. Skillset includes: enjoying time in the kitchen supporting food and fellowship; willingness to take direction and learn new things; and be both creative and efficient. Previous kitchen experience is a plus, but is not required. This can be an entry or mid level hourly paid position open to anyone 18 years of age or older. Food Safety Certification course provided.
Assistant Head Cook: This position directly supports the Head Cook and is responsible for assisting in kitchen management and menu execution. May line out staff or close out a shift in the Head Cook’s absence. Skillset includes: experience in a kitchen environment and management of kitchen staff; enjoying time in the kitchen supporting food and fellowship; willingness to learn new things and be both creative and efficient. This is an hourly paid position open to anyone 18 years of age or older. Food Safety Certification course provided.
Lodge Manager: This position manages CIT dish crews to maintain the cleanliness and overall atmosphere of the lodge. Responsible for finishing any work not completed by the CIT Crews and maintaining the lodge in its entirety. Skillset includes: experience in managing people, thoroughness and cleanliness. Food Safety Certification course provided.
Head Cook: This position runs a kitchen for summer programming. Skillset includes: experience in food production for large groups, and/or a background in catering or restaurant work; the ability to plan and execute a menu, and to run a team that delivers top notch food quality to groups of up to 200 people.
Qualifications
Qualifications for all Kitchen and Lodge positions
- The ability to work on a separate schedule from the rest of camp
- The ability to work in a potentially hectic and unpredictable work environment
- The ability to work on your feet for long hours
- The ability to start work early in the morning and work a full day
Essential Job Duties
While performing the duties of all Kitchen and Lodge jobs, the employee is regularly required to stand for the duration of a shift (up to 10 hrs), walk, talk and hear, use hands to operate, handle and feel objects, tools, or controls, and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to lift objects weighing up to 50 lbs, sit climb, balance, stoop, and kneel.
