The Role

The Venture Graphic Designer is responsible for ideating, creating, and maintaining branded assets primarily for our enterprise, fintech, and on occasion, consumer vertical teams, through a variety of channels including print, digital, and web. As a member of the design team, the Venture Graphic Designer will work directly with the creative director as well as other designers to conceptualize and design, maintain the firm's visual identity, help manage/partner with external design vendors, and work closely with the venture team to visualize ideas and extend the brand for editorial posts and campaigns, presentations, event collateral, infographics, videos, social media, emails/newsletters, webpages, and more. This person will be passionate about technology—with particular interest in the enterprise, fintech, and consumer verticals, bring a level of excellence to all that they design, and be eager to continually find new ways to visualize the future. They should be aware of the latest design tools and trends, but also be ready to set the next trend, not follow it.

To join our team, you should be excited to:

  • Partner with internal stakeholders on design projects from conception to completion, with autonomy to manage time, balance deadlines, and maintain stakeholder expectations throughout the design process.
  • Work with presenters, including executive leadership, in the enterprise, fintech, and consumer verticals to design engaging, insightful, and elegant presentations.
  • Work with cross-functional counterparts on the venture marketing team to develop strategies and campaigns across a host of channels; from content, to social media and in-person events.
  • Build and cultivate long-term relationships, both internally, and externally (through portfolio design counsels and our creative agency network).
  • Partner and collaborate with external vendors and partners.
  • Help monitor and evolve the master brand and the enterprise, fintech, and consumer sub-brands, including maintaining the brand guidelines and asset libraries.
  • Actively track and manage assigned projects in the design team project queue.
  • Participate in design and venture team meetings and critiques.
  • Network with creative agencies and freelancers to build out our ecosystem of agency partners.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 6 years of design experience.
  • BA or BFA in Graphic Design, with a deep understanding of design principles.
  • Must be proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign), Figma, Google Docs, Google Slides, Keynote, and PowerPoint.
  • You are a self-starter with the ability to work independently on projects from start to finish.
  • You are a strong collaborator and effective communicator across all levels of the organization.
  • You have very good judgment: you know when to push a design and when to play it safe.
  • You approach all work with an organized and efficient mentality, with an eye for detail.
  • You have a real passion for brand and design, while also intellectually curious and interested in technology—specifically in the enterprise and fintech verticals.
  • You can identify visual trends in the enterprise and fintech verticals. You know what type of imagery will resonate with those audiences and can visualize complicated tech topics effectively.
  • Must have an executive presence: you can sell a design concept to any audience, can be present and thoughtful in review meetings, have the agility to pivot and adapt the design execution as the strategy evolves, and can take direction/critiques well.
  • Candidates must link to their portfolio.
  • This position is open to remote workers. However, West Coast business hours will be observed and travel will be required for occasional meetings and/or quarterly events.

Bonus

  • Experience with Adobe After Effects or other animation software a plus.
  • Illustration or Photography skills are a plus.
  • Experience designing for tech startups, enterprise/b2b companies, fintech companies, and/or consumer companies are a plus.
